Thank You-Poetic Form Responses
To the humongous responses we received

“Uncommon poetic forms” is what I typed on a google search, sometime around July. Scrolling upon a plethora of results, my eyes chanced upon various poetic forms which have probably not been explored before, as much as they should be. That intrigued me. In a few days, I came across a book that was a treasure chest of uncommon poetic forms. All of it slowly took shape into this little challenge which was then presented to the extremely talented and amazing poets on Medium. And we received so many responses, and each one of them is so good.
The Medium community never ever fails to amaze you.
We thank each and every writer who took up this challenge. Down below I am listing some of the wonderful creations that were sent to Literary Impulse, with the pieces linked. I have linked one single piece from each of the amazing creators, so as to not make this long. Please navigate across our page for more from them.
And the list is not in any particular order. Please do read them if you haven’t already, and many more are trending across Medium.
Also, I sincerely apologize if I missed any writer who contributed. Please drop me a note and I will add the post, here. This was a long list to compile.
Thank you, Priyanka Srivastava, for the help through this entire poetic period.
Thank you Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar for agreeing to let me use her exquisite artwork. Anyone who’s reading this, please do navigate to her Medium profile and check her artworks and poetry. You’ll be amazed, just like I was. Trust me!
Monoreena says this about her inspiration behind this artwork:-
Frida Kahlo- “ I paint flowers so they will not die”.
Finality, however evident, shakes us to the core. And every time we look for hope and light, we end up with nature — painted or otherwise. Nothing softens a sore moment than a bunch of fresh blooms.

What next?
Dear readers, please suggest.
- Shall we do a second part of “Uncommon Poetic Forms”? There are many left to be explored.
- Shall we do an illustrated chapbook out of the best ones from this challenge? That may take some time, but we’ll do it nonetheless.
- Shall we do an “Uncommon fiction forms” challenge? There are a few on my mind.
Please let us know in the comments. Meanwhile, keep sharing your wonderful words at Literary Impulse. Thank you for your kind support.
