I Became A Friend Of Medium
I wasn't sure what becoming a Friend of Medium (FoM) meant at first, but I love writing and I love this platform. So, despite my initial uncertainty, I upgraded to FoM just a couple of days after it was first offered.
The first few weeks have been fantastic. I'm really happy I signed up for FoM and applied for the tote bag. I was one of the first 500 that became a FoM and today was the day I received the FoM tote bag.
It is big and the material is 100% cotton. I love it.
I was so excited about it that I went out in the rain for a small photo shoot.
This was one of the best decisions of 2023, to become a FoM and I don’t regret it at all. My stats are up, my earnings improved drastically and I made a bunch of new friends, just because of my membership upgrade.
Sure, I’m now spending three times the normal membership fee per month, but I still believe these fifteen dollars are a worthwhile investment. Often, we spend money without much thought, but I’m very conscious about these fifteen dollars.
I’m thrilled that the Medium Team considered ways to increase earnings for writers. Money is something everyone needs, and initially, trust in their efforts and ideas is crucial.
I believe that thanks to FoM, many writers like me can actually earn a real income here.
A lot has changed on this platform in recent years: the CEO has changed, and the algorithm has adapted multiple times. But I’m confident that the Medium Team’s vision aligns with my beliefs — connecting humans, sharing genuine human experiences, and fostering the growth of the human race on this platform.
The rain today in Queensland, Australia, didn’t stop me from donning my favorite Thai outfit and taking pictures with my new, super big, awesome FoM tote bag.

2024 has already had a great start, and I’m excited to see where my Medium journey will take me this year.
I’m ready to soar high.
