Taking Apart My Soul

Put it back together and stitch it piece by piece.

My soul, once whole, ripped and exposed Neglected, forgotten, discarded in shadows

I searched for it above and below the hills I climbed I look by day’s light, but it is in the darkness I find

What existed before is no more I carry its remnants home to store

Layed out before me, its safety shattered I lowered my ear close for all to be heard

Urges and pleas uttered suddenly Desperate for repairing broken pieces of me

What can I see changed and better through the needle’s eye I see love for myself with overwhelming joy, I cry

I will stitch each piece together till my fingers retire With the world’s explosion of colors held together by wire

I feel its power and strength as I now stand tall My passion ignites for all who will call

My soul, whole again with visions new and reaching To you, I extend my hand to gather your pieces without preaching

I remain by your side to serve my purpose to care in your stitching It’s ok to be scared and tell me no more, but I stand firm, never flinching

Your soul may be broken and lost But it calls to mine searching with you whatever the cost

However long it takes, my soul holds true You will be cared for is my promise to you
