Poems about society, failures, and life
Dear Expectations
Dear Expectations, I don’t want you to expect from me anymore. I find myself a lot easier when you are low. Every time, when you come into my life, You come with disappointment. Sometimes, you make me my own worst enemy, In the process of making myself perfect. I expect love, I expect commitments, I expect acceptance, I expect respect from others, Which hurts me most in my life. So, you are dangerous, When you are too high. I strangely feel free, When you are not there. I am wholly myself, Unshaped by the needs of others' expectations. When you don’t expect heaven,
There is no fear of hell. So, don’t expect anything from others, Just don’t, Whether it’s an arrival, An explanation, Or an apology. And do not let anyone else’s expectations direct your life.
Dear Society
Dear Society, Don’t blame me. You told me, to be myself. But, you never gave me, A chance to be me. You don’t know that, when you have made comments like, Ohhh, you gain so much weight, You should be thin. Oh, you look so dusky. Oh, you don’t talk too much. You should be an extrovert. You don’t know that when you, Give a label to someone, You reduce their entire identity, Their whole life experiences, Into one or two words. Don’t define them in,
Your two-three words. Dear Society, Please don’t label people. Don’t be too judgmental. Give them a chance to be themselves. Don’t criticize anyone, For their looks, For their body, For their physical appearance. Dear Society Please don’t break someone’s self-esteem.
Dear Failures
Dear Failures, I was upset with you, When the first time I met you. I thought I was perfect. I am good enough to get, Anything in my life. I believed that I will, Never met you, Cause I don’t deserve you. I only deserve success. I know that this is not a fact. You are in everyone’s life. Everyone gets failures in their life. First time when I met you, I wasn’t okay with you. However, now I understand your importance in my life. You taught me, How to fall with fall.
How to flow with the flow. How to grow. If there is an only success, Then we might not able to understand that, Life can be difficult. So, I want to thank you, To give me a chance to grow. To make me more confident. Thank you, To teach me some unforgettable life lessons.
Dear Diary
Dear diary, It’s 3:00 AM, I am still awake and, Playing with my thoughts. My mind just keeps switching, From one thought to another. I know it’s dark out there, However, my fantasy world looks so brighter. I have created my fictional world, Where I am the lead character, Not a fairy, But a warrior princess. I am imagined what I want, This world to be like. I made my fantasy world, Where love is not complicated, Relationships are so pure, Where I am no longer a confused soul, Where I found the meaning of life and peace. So Dear Diary, I just want to say thank you. You were always with me. When I got my first failure, First heartbreak, First achievement. You are the only, Who forced me to confess, Each and everything.
You are my best friend. You are just like my partner, Who listens to me calmly. Who never asks me any questions. Who never judges me. So, thank you for your presence in my life. And don’t forget, I love you a lot, And I mean it.
Dear Life
Dear life, I know sometimes you are hard, You are out of my control, Sometimes, I just want to hate you. Sometimes, I won’t be able to handle you. I know you are so unpredictable, You never tell me that what surprise, You are going to give me in the future. Whenever you give me struggles, You also give me hope. Hope for happiness, Hope for new dreams, Hope for being loved, Hope for new tomorrow, I know if there is you, Pain will come, I know I am happy now, But I know that you will,
Have something different for me in the future. I have you to live, So I have to try my best, To live you in the best possible way. In every difficulty, I am very blessed because I have you. The best thing in my life that ever happened to me is you.
