Stress and Sugar Gave Me Calves?

Reflecting on my transition journey this week

WEEK 63 CHECK-IN:

Trans Life Past: I’m finally on the move again! I’ve started back on my phentermine and I’m looking forward to coming off the zyrtec. With the move and getting back on phentermine, I’m going to focus on health again. T is creating muscle magic without much input from me so let’s see what happens when I HELP it.

  • Back at the boys’ place! Yes, the two bi guys in a gay presenting long-term love nest. They are relationship goals! I so need to base some characters on them because they are interesting AF! All the stories.
  • It’s so good to not be popping an antihistamine every morning. Still having a bit of the old inhaler until the lungs have cleared out again, but I wake up able to breathe, to YAY! Lol. This morning I woke up to Dougal the cat laying his head by me and staring, waiting. Haha. Then got kittie kisses. So adorable. Such a different vibe, lol. I love the three dogs from the last sit, but it very much taught me to accept and enforce my own limits. Three years of sitting and I’m still learning. I’m going to launch Adventures in PetSitting next year so I’ll save those lessons for then :)
  • As for health, I did myself an injustice while I was stressed and ate too much quick dopamine (aka, sugar) but now, no fucking excuses. I’ve been out more over the past week and getting those KMs up again. The whole time I was at the last sit, even with dog walks (although, it rained more than it didn’t so dog walks weren’t as often as they should have been), I wasn’t even hitting 30km. And yet, somehow, my body kept adjusting, because…
  • CALVES! I have calves! I mean, yeah, I had them before, but now I have like, dude calves. You know what I’m talking about, right? Like, definition and sexiness. I’m so gay for my calves right now!

Priorities: 1. Drink more water!

  • I’ve been doing that. Go me. Bonus that where I am now has a SodaStream and soda water makes me very happy.

2. Register 35km on fitbit

  • With 12 hours still on the clock, I’ve registered 44km, so TICK!

3. 30 pushups/variations x 5 days

  • Look, I would have done it if I wrote it somewhere instead of just forgetting the moment I closed the article. Oops.

Other Notes:

  • Imposter syndrome was a bit of a bitch this week with self-misgendering. BUT, finally, I can catch up on RuPaul again (because the current sit has STAN) and already I’m reframing that because, seriously, if I took a shot for every time they said ‘guuuurl’ on Drag Race Canada, I’d be very dead from alcohol poisoning by the third episode! I’m starting to look at and reinterpret language. My thoughts on all this aren’t clear yet. Watch this space! Lol.
  • I’m reading a book at the moment with a trans masc character. Representation makes me so happy! But then a main character said ‘dysmorphia’ (with all context suggesting dysphoria) and the trans masc character didn’t correct them. I’m friends with the author on Facebook as we write in the same genres so we run in the same circles so to speak. I messaged them because I couldn’t in good faith and with respect to my community, just not say anything. The great thing about MM romance writers is that they are either community members or staunch allies (at least, the ones I know are), so I expect the author will embrace the feedback, especially since it is coming from WITHIN the community. And especially especially because I think the trans man may be getting his own story next. Representation is amazing, but good, strong, positive representation saves lives!

UPDATE: So within 2 and a half hours of me messaging, the amazing author just messaged me back to say they went straight in there and fixed it and all files for all books, both electronic and print, have been updated. They were grateful and apologetic and explained how they belive it happened (not as an excuse, but as a way of bringing it to their own attention). This is why I love the MM romance writers community! Fucking amazing! But… the trans masc character isn’t getting his own book. Cut my soul! Haha.

This Week’s Articles:

And on to WEEK 64:

Trans Life Ahead: Now that I’ve settled back into a space that is a bit more conducive to concentration and focus… what was I going to say? Haha. I jest. I’m going to start doing what I did before I even started T — getting up at the crack of a sparrow’s fart and going for a nice decent walk in nature every day. Also, my character, Anton, has been a growing presence and boy doesn’t fuck around (well…). Think I’ll take some time this week to chat with him specifically about gender becasue he’s really damn smart and does not mince words, lol.

Priorities: 1. 50km on Fitbit 2. Walk at least 5 morning (allowances for Melbourne weather, lol) 3. Write a trans ask article on here becasue they were fun

Dose: 3 Pumps/day (37.5mg)
