How a murder unravelled everything
Word of the Day: Central!
“It looks like we’re stuck,” Jen murmured, eyeing the crime scene. The central piece of the puzzle lay before them, a clue linking all the murders.
“Stuck? Or cleverly lured?” Tom countered, his gaze sharp.
Their banter, usually light, carried weight today. Around them, evidence whispered secrets of a mastermind, one step ahead.
“Every victim led us here,” Jen said, piecing it together.
“And he knew we’d come,” Tom added, the realization dawning.
The mastermind watched, amused. They were close, yet so far. This sticky situation was his design, a web they had willingly entered.
“Checkmate,” he thought, smirking mysteriously.
