“You can tell a young bird by its color. An immature Cardinal is a muddy gray with splotches of dull red, a young Sharp-shinned Hawk, nothing but dark streaks, and a young American Goldfinch, olive with a hint of yellow, is nothing like its adult male counterpart, striking yellow with black wings and mask, and…”

“Peabody, will you shut. the. fuck. up?!?” thought Alexander, stuck in the first row during the lecture.

Behind him, Suzanne teased his ear.

“Ohhhhh… mmmmm… don’t stop!” Alexander groaned.

“Alexander, who knew you loved birds? Let’s chat after class,” exclaimed Mr. Peabody.

“Ohhhhh… ummmm…”
