Sounds of Nature — The Musical Extravaganza

In response to Dancing Elephants prompt 26 of 52

Nature is not a place to visit, it is home- Gary Snyder [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Mother Nature is unadulterated, unsurpassable, uncomplicatedly, unequivocally, and uninterruptedly a big-time musical extravaganza.

Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience- Ralph Waldo Emerson [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Her umbrella encompasses a rich range of sounds that blow, buzz, trickle, chirp, etc.

Nature is pleased with simplicity- Sir Isaac Newton [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

I don’t think there is none as unique, graceful, rich, varied, and diverse as her.

Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder- E.B.White [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Worked up by the constant churn and grind of modern life, when I close my eyes and think of the sounds of nature for a while, loads and loads of moments flock in from the albums of indelible memories I have made thus far.

Nature’s beauty takes our breath and expression away [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

I understand that nature is best perceived when there is no unnecessary mechanical sound around.

Silence has its own music. Listen to it [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

The immense stillness in nature attracts me to enjoy and appreciate the environment more for being so peaceful and perfect.

Where flowers bloom, so does hope- Lady Bird Johnson [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

However, stillness doesn’t mean complete pin-drop silence. It does carry a host of distinct natural sounds.

If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere- Vincent van Gogh [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

I feel lucky to have a host of wonderful opportunities to register the sounds of nature up on the mountains, down to the seas, crossing brooks, while fishing in the rivers and trying to row boats in lakes, so on and so forth.

Water is the driving force of all nature- Leonardo da Vinci [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

The magical sounds of nature never ever forced us to listen to them whereas the man-made sounds force us to listen.

Water is life’s matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water- Albert Szent-Gyorgyi [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Now, it is we, the nature lovers, who need to be observant and attentive amongst mechanical cacophony.

It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine- A. A.Milne [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

The howl of the wind, the rustling of leaves, the buzzing of mosquitoes, the shrill cries of cicadas and crickets, the croaking of frogs, the whispers of mountains, the roaring of thunder, the susurration of sea waves lashing the shores, the burble of waterfalls, the chirping of birds, the pitter-patter of rain, etc. seem to be in perfect balance with one another.

There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature — the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter- Rachel Carson [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Even the howling of sandstorms appears relief to the ears.

My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature- Claude Monet [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

I have simply tried to write a line or two about some places where I experienced unique natural sounds of our all-pervasive Mother Nature:

Jungle

It is a perfect place to hear a concert of humming, thrumming, buzzing, roaring, and chirping of birds, animals, and insects, each having a distinct sound from the other.

I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles- Anne Frank [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Isn’t it surreal?

For a time, I rest in the grace of the world, and am free- Wendell Berry [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Desert

Even this seemingly ‘lifeless’ terrain is full of life with the living organisms around.

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow- Helen Keller [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

And when there are living organisms — right from camels to snakes — they are bound to make unique ‘noises’, but soothing to the ears.

Waterfall, River, Sea, Lake

Water, the most precious gift by nature, is the primary and essential need of every living being.

The poetry of the earth is never dead- John Keats [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Interestingly, around 71% of the Earth’s surface is water-covered. The aquatic life is rich and diverse.

What is the good of your stars and trees, your sunrise and the wind, if they do not enter into our daily lives- E.M. Forster [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

So, needless to say, the sounds of the aquatic biosphere are bound to be matchless and unparallel.

Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it- Lao Tzu [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Mountains, Birds, Animals, Insects, Rainfall & Leaves

I am a mountain girl by heart (and tad partial too toward it….sshhhh!) And I find symphonies everywhere I visit.

Storms make trees take deeper roots- Dolly Parton [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Right from the sun slowly peeping over the mountains, light fog wrapping around the mountain range, chirping of crickets, birds shaking the dew off their feathers, dogs barking faintly deep down the gorge nearby. A breeze tickles the trees sending a slight chill in the air.

Mother Nature is the ultimate inspiration [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Ummm…magical!

We can never have enough of nature- Henry David Thoreau [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

There is so much to watch, listen to, learn, register, and comprehend from the sounds of Mother Nature.

Nature is the purest portal to inner peace- Angie Weiland Crosby [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

However, it seems that one life is not quite enough to accomplish that.

Some old-fashioned things like fresh air and sunshine are hard to beat- Laura Ingalls Wilder [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

What do you say?

One touch of nature makes the whole world kin- William Shakespeare [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Am I sounding ‘greedy’? Maybe!

…Nature always seems trying to talk to us as if she had some great secret to tell. And so she has- John Lubbock [Image: ©️Sanghita Pal]

Please let me know your valuable thoughts and do share your take on the sounds of nature.
