My 12-hour layover in Cairo proved magical

Random Word Drabble Challenge Day 40 Word Is Claims

Immigration chaos and baggage claims left me drained.

The Cairo night pulsed, hieroglyph-laden shops promising secrets I was too tired to explore.

Sleep brought little solace.

Morning greeted me with the wrong suitcase. No clothes — just cash and cocaine.

A booming knock sent me fleeing down the fire escape.

“Sim sala bim” echoed through the rent-a-car as it reversed, bringing me back 10 hours to baggage claims. Ignoring the cursed look-a-like case, I grabbed an identical one containing my belongings!

I went to the gate to await my flight out.

I patted my pocket — the cash remained.
