Reflecting On My Medium Stats For April And My Goals For May
My creative round-up for the last month
Did I achieve all of my Medium goals for April?
No! But that’s okay.
Most of my writing time was spent on external work so it was still a productive month — just not so much on Medium! As for what I did achieve on this platform, I’m very proud of the articles I put out into the world even if there weren’t that many.
My confidence in writing continues to grow and that’s my one true goal each month. However, I’m keen to increase my portfolio of work on Medium over May and try to see a greater boost in my stats.
Stats For April
- I wrote 5 stories across 5 publications
- 3 articles were chosen for further distribution
- 3 of the 5 articles had over 100 views
- 0 new referred members
- 48 new followers & 0 new email subscribers
- Total earnings from April = $19.40
I’m all for transparency and honesty when sharing work online, and though this wasn’t a huge month for me in terms of numbers, it’s still something and for that I’m grateful. I didn’t commit a huge amount of time to Medium in April so I wasn’t expecting much.
Let’s see what next month brings!
Top Earning Articles In April
My highest earning article overall was a piece I published back in March. I think the headline is catchy and it seems to grab people’s attention.
Of the articles I published in April, these were the top 3:
May Goals
I’m mostly echoing my goals from April again for the new month ahead. I’m happy with steady progress, even if it’s a small increase!
- I want to write between 10–15 articles (attempt #2!)
- I’d like to see an increase in my monthly earnings again… maybe hit over $20!
- I want to reach at least 250 followers
Seeing as I only wrote 5 articles last month, and 7 the month before, hitting 10 would be a real success.
Favourites Of April
I love to end my round-up of Medium work with a shout-out to all the wonderful art I’ve consumed in the last month, from books to TV series to the work of other writers. They’re all inspiring and help fuel my brain when writing.

- Films: The Worst Person in the World, Operation Mincemeat, King Richard, Beautiful Boy, and Face/Off
