The importance of following on Medium

My key message to our writers today is the importance of following other members. Following is an important feature in many social media and content development platforms. Medium makes the following process easy for writers. All we need to do is clicking on the follow button on writers profile.

Following has several benefits for writers. When you follow writers, you can see their articles on your daily feed. I made it habit to follow our writers as soon as they contact me. I also noticed that our writers follow me back. This habit enables me to see your stories in my feed as soon as you publish them.

Collaboration is essential for writers. Medium made the platform accessible for writers to connect and collaborate. The more members you follow and get connected, the more visibility your stories can get. Contrary to other platforms, there is no limitations or penalties for following members on Medium.

Some writers don’t follow anyone. I respect their choice but don’t understand the rationale. I enjoy following others who follow me. This reciprocity creates serendipitous encounters. Using this habit, I always meet new writers, explore new content, and learn something new from their insights. Each writer is unique hence can offer new perspectives.

What did we create and distribute today?

We have two sets of curation list for our stories; one for non-fiction stories and one for poetry and fiction. Attached are the records for your enjoyment.
