Pocket App Is Helpful For Writers and Readers

You might find ‘Pocket’ useful as much as I do.

I had recently started using the ‘Pocket’ on my google chrome browser as an extension and its app version on my android phone.

Here are some of the highlights of ‘Pocket’ :

1. You can save webpages for future reference. You can read all the saved web pages inside the pocket itself. So in the case of Pocket’s google chrome extension, you could read all saved webpages in one single tab of ‘Pocket’.
2. You can save webpages with tags. For example, you could categorize the saved web pages under any tag name you wish to choose — creativity, spirituality, health, writing, etc. You can later pick one to read from the tags as per your mood.
3. You do not anymore need to depend on the bookmarks feature on your browser. ‘Pocket’ is more cleaner, structured, and easily serves the purpose. And all under one single tab in case of the browser extension.
4. Like in ‘Medium’, you can choose to highlight the sentences in saved webpages on ‘Pocket’.
5. In their android app version, they provide the audio version of the saved web pages (including Medium stories). If you are not in a situation to read through the contents you can opt to have it read out for you through the audio listening feature.
6. Customize font and background colors (limited options for the free version).
7. There are no ads whatsoever.
8. It is possible to bypass subscriber-only posts on various websites.

One that I find most useful, personally, is the option to listen to the audio version. And it is because at night, especially during the time before falling asleep, I could just choose to listen to the saved web page contents without straining my eyes, and I am more likely to fall asleep while listening than reading.

These are all the advantages I found while using the free version of ‘Pocket’.
