Olives Growing Wild in South West UK!

A rainbow — things must be looking up!

Well, when I say olives are ‘growing wild’, I mean they’re growing in a pot in a neighbour’s garden. But that’s nearly wild …

The photo above shows buds of the Japanese Quince. They make a great splash of colour around the neighbourhood — they also, later in the year, result in many jars of quince jelly making some of my neighbours’ larder shelves groan.

The most amazing rainbow appeared suddenly this week — I was lucky to be outside when it happened or I’d have missed it. It shows up all the telephone and electricity lines and scaffolding that are littering the neighbourhood to perfection!

Also the socking great big and tall lights in the cricket ground, but I don’t mind them so much.

It’s a rainbow — things must be looking up. We certainly all were when it appeared.

The Christmas roses are surpassing themselves this year.

Crocuses are appearing too! Fabulous.

We spotted these two in the window, with their message, while we were ambling around the neighbourhood. I’ve seen this window before — I’m pretty certain it had different animals in last time so it looks as if the people in there change the characters saying hello to the world. How nice!

It goes without saying that PupperJack took great exception to it, though, so we had to hurry away before anyone thought we had received the message in any unfriendly way.

So here he is — conveniently forgetting his antagonism towards a stuffed bear and his pal just minutes earlier — PupperJack is practising his zen-like calm now.

He reckons I could do with following his example. I reckon he’s probably right.

The daffodils are really gearing up for a fantastic display now!

Which always reminds me of the William Wordsworth poem — which I have put into my ‘Anything Creative’ publication — love this poem!

‘Spring Dreams’ painting by Susan Alison

This is the painting that accompanies, ‘I wandered lonely as a cloud’.

Dennett started the Photo-a-Day Challenge to help combat the pandemic blues. I’m delighted that she is continuing to do so despite Medium’s sabotage of our picture liberties.
