Not a New Income Stream — But a Healthy Lifestyle Is All You Need
Your lifestyle is way more important than just earning money.

First thing, first. If you are struggling to meet your daily needs, this post is not for you. But if you have a decent income yet you are blindly running after money ignoring everything else, then, this article is definitely for you.
Many people I know have an adequate amount of money to meet their daily needs. Their children go to good schools and colleges. They have food on their table, roofs over their heads. Yet, they are extremely unhappy. Why? Because they are in a constant search for making more money.
These rat-humans do 9–5 jobs or run a business, but when their daily job ends, instead of giving the rest of the time to their children and family, they get engaged in more works, what they call a side-hustle or extra income stream. But is that a good practice? I hope not.
In this post, I will talk about a healthy lifestyle, and it’s a thing that you all should care about — more than money or wealth. Otherwise, you will end up in some old home in your sunset years — alone — hopeless — unhappy. And no amount of money will be able to buy you a single drop of happiness.
Money Isn’t Bad. But How You Look at It Can Be Detrimental to Your Life.
Last month, I earned the amount of money I never earned before in my life. It was way more than what I need for a month. But did that make me happy? Yes, absolutely. I felt that I achieved something. And it was great. Great but short-lived.
Here is how I look at money. Money is a tool that helps me to survive. It certainly makes my life easy but I realized that it’s not the money that gives me ultimate happiness, rather the connection I have in my life with nature, family, and friends makes me truly happy. But if I stop earning the amount I need, that relationship will be affected. So, here comes the idea of a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
And we all need a balance between living our life and earning money, don’t we?
Because when you stop considering the other things like family, friends, love, reading, movie, music, reading, drawing, talking, traveling, and so on — and only focus on earning more money, no doubt your life will become robotic lacking the fun, mystery, and excitement.
What I am saying is — your tendency to always go for a new income stream and work your ass off sacrificing your present moment is absolutely flawed.
No one can live in the future. Life happens now. So, treat money as a necessary tool to live your life. And never make it your life.
How to Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle
In my dictionary, a healthy lifestyle is not just doing exercise or going for a keto diet. A healthy lifestyle means balancing your life in a way that can give you a great living experience on earth. It means to earn peace, happiness, love, and joy — and of course, money.
But it’s a way of living where money doesn’t dominate your other behavior or thinking.
In a healthy lifestyle, peace and happiness come first, no matter what. And you achieve this peace and happiness by — being creative in your daily life — enjoying the beauty of nature, — working for others, — communicating with your near ones, — speaking for the greater humanity, — reading and connecting with the thoughts of the beautiful minds — and many more.
Here is how you can adopt a healthy lifestyle —
Set an earning threshold
Setting an earning threshold is crucial. Why? Because earning money is highly addictive. And in most cases, you don’t know when to stop. So, set a limit and when you cross that, question yourself whether you are becoming a money-earning robot or not.
If you continue to earn more than your earning threshold, stop searching for more income streams. I mean, don’t be so greedy that you lose the sweetness of living a life.
And for god’s sake, don’t ever think that earning millions and billions will solve all your problems. Look at the billionaires! They suck at their personal life. They are not as happy as they appear in magazines.
Stop comparing yourself to others
Well, well, well — this is almost impossible. Because the online world is constantly pushing your to compare yourself to your neighbors, friends, colleagues, celebrities, and so on.
Moreover, with paid advertisements, big corporations are telling to buy their products to catch the trend or be on the track of fame and success. They are constantly manipulating you.
You think that you are choosing what you buy, but this is not happening in reality. You are tricked to choose what you choose.
That’s why I highly recommend you limit your social media and online time. It can set you free from comparing yourself to others. It is necessary because no one can ever be happy if he/she continues to think that he/she lacks something that others already have. It’s unhealthy and depressing.
If you don’t believe me, just watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix, or follow great minds like Jaron Lanier, Tristan Harris, and Cal Newport. You’ll eventually get the point.
Purchase wisely
We have developed a habit of buying things that we don’t need. We purchase anyway only to go with the trend. But to live a healthy lifestyle, we must make a significant improvement in our purchasing habits.
Buy good quality things that last longer and use them for months and years. Do not only buy things to show off.
Remove the clutter in your house and have some breathing space. Before buying anything new, ask yourself — do you really need that thing or you are just buying for the sake of buying.
The habit of purchasing wisely can save you tons of money, and it exhibits you as a smart person.
Care for the environment and reduce your daily waste
Reducing daily waste is an inevitable part of a healthy lifestyle. Because when you do that, your entire lifestyle gets optimized, and you become more conscious in your day-to-day decision-making. You consume less, produce less waste, and be mindful about how your behavior affects the natural world.
That’s why reducing your daily waste is so crucial. You can read about some simple yet effective waste-reducing tips and apply those in your day-to-day life.
Make some amazing habits
To maintain a healthy lifestyle, you need to adopt some amazing habits. These habits are some small dose of happiness. They keep you healthy, widen your worldview, and make your life spicy.
For example, you can exercise thirty minutes in the morning, read at least 10 pages a day, listen to good music to relax, watch a good movie or documentary on weekends, spend some time with your spouse and children, work on your hobby, learn some new skills, and so on.
What I am trying to say is — you must have some amazing habits that can make your daily life more vibrant and active. These habits will create a wonderful world outside of your boring cubicle.
So, build some good habits and experience life to its fullest.
Slow down, meditate, and give yourself some time
You can be religious or not — it’s up to you. But you must introduce meditation in your daily life. It’s a great way to slow things down and focus on yourself — your body, mind, spirituality, and more.
It’s not a big deal. You can meditate anywhere, anytime. If you are too busy that you have no time at all. Then meditate when you are commuting.
Meditation will calm your mind and give you a clearer vision. Energy will flow throughout your body and mind, and you will be less affected by the everyday chaos. Mediation is so powerful that it can uplift your condition whenever you adopt it in your life.
If you don’t know where to start, you can watch this Netflix documentary on meditation for a good start. And I can assure you — it helps.
To Conclude
Well, don’t get me wrong. I am not discouraging you to earn more money. The message I am trying to sell you is — living a good life is way more important than just earning more money or accumulating wealth.
Happiness resides in so many different things around you. All you need is to develop an eye for it.
So, have a healthy lifestyle. Be happy and make a positive impact. And play your part to make the world a better place to live in.
