How Much Money Will Shut Your Mouth?
Ask yourself a few questions and be clear about the rest.

You are obsessed with money, aren’t you?
Money pays your bills. It pays mine too. It makes you smile, builds your confidence, and elevates your position in society. It is a must when — you plan for marriage — your child gets sick — or your wife demands a diamond necklace.
Money can buy nearly everything, including mansions, fame, attention, and power. Who am I to ignore the value of money?
But then comes the ultimate question — how much money do you need to live a happy and peaceful life? Because according to Aristotle, happiness is the central purpose of human life and a goal in itself.
I’m curious
When you see the name of Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, or Warren Buffet, why do you stop to have a look? Why do you care so much about ‘financially’ successful people?
Why this obsession with money? Ask yourself.
The Internet inundated itself with tons of money-making articles based on numerous success stories. It says how you can earn more following the techniques those people used in their life.
Of course, you can follow the tips, read the books they read, build the habits they have, represent yourself as they do. Most importantly, with persistent efforts and sacrifice, you can attain financial success as they have achieved.
But then, what? Will your search for more stop?

Why do you earn money?
You earn money to live a decent life. It is a great thing to have a standard lifestyle. Money gives you choices. Having more money means more options to choose from what you want.
But can it be the ultimate goal of your life?
Remember, financially successful people may not be successful in life as money cannot guarantee happiness and peace of mind.
Never think that all your problems will vanish away when you have a huge amount in your bank account. That’s not going to happen. It can help you to solve problems quickly but cannot guarantee peace and happiness in your life.
Everyone — irrespective of their financial conditions — has their fair share of problems. And more money cannot solve all the complexities life offers.
It can give you more power to buy some fancy-expensive-stuff you don’t need. Moreover, if you have a decent mind, you can help others with your money as well. But that’s a rare possibility.
People generally don’t earn more to help others. They want money for themselves. Sometimes they do charity. But most of the time, they do it only to escape the taxes. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true.
Note Find out why you should earn more money. Have a clear idea before joining the ugly rat race.
What is your happiness income?
To become happy, we must make sure that we are not struggling to maintain our day to day life. A decent amount of money can free us from that stress. And we all love the mental freedom money provides. But the question is, how much money will make us happy?
A study by Princeton researchers Daniel Kahneman and Angus Deaton found that people tend to feel happier with the more money they make until they hit a certain amount. They estimated the amount to be about $75,000 a year per person.
You can rely on that study or set your happiness-income yourself. But please don’t focus too much on the money. Focus on happiness and peace of mind.
No one’s life purpose can be earning more and more. It’s not a healthy thing to do. Focus on happiness — find your inner peace — enjoy your day to day life.
Consider your physical, mental, and spiritual wellness to achieve harmony and balance in life.
Note Find out your happiness-income. Don’t compare your financial position with others. Focus on happiness and peace, not on money.
