Summary

In a fantasy setting, Viper discovers that Diera, a new acquaintance, is a shapeshifting barbarian, leading to a mix of surprise, humor, and camaraderie as she is invited to join their quest.

Abstract

The narrative titled "My Favourite Barbarian" under the "Searching for Charity №13" series unfolds with Viper, one of the characters, in a state of surprise as she learns about Diera's true nature as a wild, shapeshifting barbarian. This revelation occurs after a bloody encounter, during which Diera cleans her hands, signaling the end of the action. The group's dynamic is lightened by humor, as Pike throws an apple to the famished Viper, joking about the situation. Diera, though initially engaging, retreats into her angsty demeanor. The story is part of an ongoing series, with previous chapters and a table of contents provided for readers to follow the narrative. The author, JF Danskin, was inspired by a drabble challenge to create this series, and reader engagement, such as reading more of the author's tales or subscribing, can influence further development of the characters.

Viper was still starting at Diera when the barbarian cleaned her bloody hands with a cloth.

“I need food.”

Pike grinned and threw her an apple.

“I got you covered.”

“It’s magic,” Diera joked, still panting a little.

“Why didn’t anybody tell me you are some wild, shapeshifting barbarian?” Viper asked.

“You are with us,” Pike answered, “but not yet one of us.”

“That hurts.”

“What did you expect us to say? You look trustworthy. Do you want to join our noble quest?”

“Yeah, get over it,” Diera said, but she had already started to retreat into her angsty personality.
