My 9 Month Journey to Publishing 100 Stories on Medium in 2022

I gave myself permission to write, ditched my excuses, and never looked back

February 2022 — The Beginning

The journey started with a leap of faith in February 2022 when I read a story by Kristina God announcing her Medium Bootcamp course. I’d been waiting for a sign to start writing on Medium for a long time and I knew this was it.

I signed up, jumped into the deep end and started learning and writing and just kept on going. Nothing was going to stop me this time.

After 2 years of the pandemic dealing with uncertainty and seismic changes, I realized I didn’t want to sit on the sidelines any more. I wanted to be all in!

My first story was also a metaphor for hitting my own Restart Button. It’s true for computers and people!

March 2022

Another leap of faith came when I decided to become an editor for Megan Llorente’s Midform Publication in March 2022. It’s helped me become a better writer and to meet and encourage other writers on this platform.

April 2022

My thoughts went to springtime in Paris and my first visit there. Sharing my memories of this magical visit inspired me to write more stories about my life experiences.

May 2022

In May I let my humorous side out by writing about my observations of people who live in their own private little world called Planet Me.

June 2022

One of the things I enjoy most about writing is sharing my knowledge to help people become more productive and have fun doing it. Here’s an example.

July 2022

During July I wrote about my experience writing Haiku poems for fun and how trying a new form can increase your creativity.

August 2022

My mom, Bunny, loved Great Danes. So I wrote about my fond memories of growing up with these gentle giants and all the fun adventures we had.

September 2022

One of the most important things I learned this year is to trust my gut and not doubt myself about what I want to write. This is a crucial lesson that all writers face.

October 2022–Goal Completed

Coming into the home stretch! This has been an exciting month for me because two of my stories received 1,000 claps and lots of comments. It’s so nice to get positive validation from readers and writers on Medium and to know that something you wrote is helpful to them.

Looking back on the last 9 months I’m so proud of all I’ve accomplished. I’ve created a body of work that’s allowed me to find my voice and write on a myriad of topics that express all aspects of my life.

Key Message: If you just keep writing and don’t stop, you can achieve more than you ever thought possible.
