Music Brings The Joy

Episode #8

Her mother struggles with her finances, now and then, so Vivianne tries not to ask for that much stuff. Her mother is strong, she knows that, but somehow, she also is worried sometimes.

“Really?”

Her mother and David looked at her while they smiled at her. And Vivianne stood up to hug them both. She was so happy.

“You make the happiest kid in the world, mister Feldman.”

“I know, I know. Just call me David. I am not that old.”

“How old are you then?”

“That is rude to ask, Vivianne.”

“That is fine. I have been asked about my age very often.”

He pulled himself off and told her that she may borrow his little violin until her mother got everything sorted out. Her mother needed to fill in an application for the music program Vivianne will participate in, which David helps her mother filling in with.

Vivianne and Harriette held each other’s hands and walked away. One look back and Harriette smiled and David. David saw that smile, and he walked into his room and then he smiled too. Warm feeling. He put his hands on his belly. How is that possible? He didn’t want to pay any attention to it, because it is not appropriate to go with the mother of your student. He will get in trouble, definitely. But still, he smiled anyway. He took his violin while there was a knock on his room door. It was the next student.

Harriette smiled too. Her daughter took her hand and held her hand tighter. Vivianne looked at her mother. She saw her smiling, which made her confused too. What is going on right now? She never knew her biological father, and really wanted to have a father figure in her life. It is not really a good idea to fantasize about having a father figure in her life right now.

“Mom, do you like him?”

“No, why do you think that?”

“How you looked to him.”

“What look?”

“The way you looked at David.”

“I didn’t look at David. I just laughed.”

“Yeah, sure, mom.”
