October is a month for celebration apparently. It seems to exist for that purpose. Here are a few quick ones, and if you missed them, well, too bad. Note them down for next year!

Oct 1st — World Vegetarian Day! Yay! Finally someone cares about us vegetarians. Most often, when I go out with friends, they try to order a potted plant for me. They assume that’s enough :)
Oct 1st — International Day of the Older Persons. This one got me. When do I celebrate this? Someone is always going to be older than me somewhere. Older than what? 30? 40? I was so confused and in trying to work out whom to celebrate, the day passed by.
Oct 6th — Garlic Lovers Day. My theory? An apple a day keeps the doctor away. On Garlic Lover’s Day — keep everyone away. Hahahaha. I know. Poor joke.
Oct 21st — International Day of the Nacho. I don’t know who comes up with these special days. In Hindi, nacho means ‘to dance.’ Therefore, in India, we will all stand up as a nation and shake a leg while the rest of the world eats some kind of chips.
Oct 23rd — Mole Day. This is my favorite. I have a few moles here and there. I circled them using a red marker and showed them off to whoever made the mistake of visiting that day. By afternoon, I was stricken with doubt. Maybe we are meant to celebrate those cute, furry creatures that burrow under the ground? Or must we celebrate spies who risk life and limb to gather intelligence? I finally looked it up. Duh! It is a chemistry thing. Involving avocados.

After this, I gave up trying to look up ways to celebrate October. It is too much effort. Best to stick to reading humor posts on MuddyUm for entertainment!
