- Ah, yes, now I realize that it is my job to introduce you to the heroes, says the Presence… Yes, Monique Touran… Let’s begin!
As we implied, Monique Touran is Lily’s twin sister. Identical-looking sisters. Life was pretty cruel to them, and their father was no longer in this time and dimension when they were born. He was a soldier and had fallen into duty. Or, directly, he had died. Do you understand what this is about?!? Let’s not talk too much about sad situations! You will get to know his story during what will follow.
And, to make life even crueler (or, more fairy tale), even from birth, taking advantage of their mother’s broken state of mind, people from a more unique kind of military service, had managed to convince their mother, to give the children, the two sisters, under the pretext that they will take better care of them… The mother initially only knew about one of the sisters… After a rather long time passed, she found out that her other daughter is also alive… But these are also details that will follow… Their father being a soldier, there being some continuity problems of a normal life, together with the mother’s conditions, led to this result, difficult to accept at first sight.
The fact is that they ended up in some kind of “special forces” program and led a strange life for those times, really wonderful for most people…
You will see the whole story through Monique’s eyes… Their life was the life of others, they lived only with what they could “steal” when they were not under the surveillance of the military and when they were free from the orders of their superiors…
Yes, my dears, this is military life… In a life where everything is just hierarchy and the “soldier”, “officer”, the person are the ones that count only as the level of execution of an order, possibly as a utility value or value invested in it. Where the human is only the executor, the extension of the weapon, or the like. It is the insignificant cog of a mechanism…
It is a place where everyone is uniform to a certain degree and fewer people… Actually… It is enough for this level of the story…
To you, the one reading all this, it may seem like no big deal. But think about how our heroine saw all this as a child.
Like any child, if you don’t see how other children live, you have no way of knowing whether you live well, normally, or abnormally. And great people often experience such things. But, let me try to help you understand something!
As I was telling you, they were taken from their mother as babies. They didn’t even have a mother, in the true sense. Or at least they did in a very strange way.
Because of the special forces training program, the girls were rarely together, and only in the military buildings owned by those who supported that military training program. They said they wanted to make the sisters a kind of “super-soldier” team. And, one thing, a necessity of the people who deal with such things, called “covering”, forced them to be in public only one of them, the other being closed in the military buildings.
How was this need satisfied?!? One of the twins was pronounced dead shortly after birth. The mother suffered the loss as if everything were real, everything was perfectly directed by the initiators of the military program. It was only three years after this event that the mother was informed of the fact that the twin sister was alive, everything is carried out under the conditions of a kind of blackmail impossible to avoid (you will find out details along the way) …
They were raised and trained together, true, but always, always, only one of them appeared in public… This was to be able to satisfy the total freedom of action of one of them, while the other, by her presence in a place as public, provide the alibi, the cover…
So, I hope you understand when one was with her mother, the other was in the military buildings when one was outside playing or at school, the other was locked up… And so on… When they became adults and started acting “in the field”, one was carrying out orders, the other was present in a public place, canceling any kind of possible investigation that could be done when investigating an issue related to violations of the law, where the thread of the investigation could lead to the sister who acted…
Then, being sisters who loved each other, as all brothers and sisters should, they arranged to go out in turns, at their own choice, despite military orders that might be received. And this was possible because the similarity between them made real identification impossible… That is, to be able to determine exactly who is Monique or who is Lily… Or, at least, that’s what they thought (spoiler)…
Moreover, there was a kind of absolute understanding between them, something that made it so that neither of them would ever break their word with the other regardless of what they wanted. It was all just a joint decision… No arguing, no claims, or the like… They were kind of whole, in every way. And they were too little together to give up the joy of being together… Or their desire to escape the madness their lives had thrown them into… Without being asked… Without ever being allowed to have an opinion …
But, going out “on the field” they discovered real life, they discovered the big lie they lived in, step by step, moment by moment lived “outside” …
- Wait a minute, forgive me for going from one thing to another… But I have so many things to tell you and your time is limited, dear reader… Forgive my interruption of ideas but I want to outline the most important things for you! Yes, come back!
It is important to remember that they understood each other perfectly. This is because as a soul, they were a kind of the same soul, called the essence (named Atma), separated into two “contradictions”, called branches… One named Xantia (the container, her body being Monique) the other Danah (her being Lily) … But for now, related to souls, that’s enough! I won’t give too many details because you will have to figure out what it is about…
So, they were kind of a complete team… Why team and not whole, like I said before?!?
And, yes, this also applies to souls, as you call them…
And the world in which the sisters, our heroines, were obliged to exist, required them, obliged them, to be a team from all points of view. Neither could act without the other, neither could exist without the other.
Well, worse, the military world is not what it seems… Especially in these things, of the secret service type… From here there is no way out, except in very rare cases, and exit is possible only for those who don’t matter… For those what matters is no other outcome than the accident, the incident, usually resulting in “reintegration” or even death.
This reintegration is a complicated thing, which you will discover in detail during the story… As a kind of landmark, it means in its “light” form a forced relocation of the person in a so-called “compatibility zone” … But, in the military form, means the effective erasure of the brain with the so-called “reintegration” through re-education and others… I don’t want to go into too much detail…
Anyway, there are many other details… I described to you that one of the sisters was declared deceased. Your mind may not grasp the harsh reality (if you guessed, congratulations) … The military was using this situation as real blackmail for each of the sisters… If the sisters did something wrong, one of them was going to be killed, because, legally, they would not no one answers, one of the sisters, any of them, being deceased anyway… I hope you understand! I don’t want to scare you too much with the mess of real life…
Let’s go back to the brief description of the team and finish with these details, because you need to start making your decisions, to help these sisters as soon as possible…
One of them, Lily, was highly trained in “field” (“action”) secret agent interventions, while the other, Monique, oversaw mission preparation, everything related to technique, surveillance, planning, and others. Harming other people, even under the pretext or reality that you represent the “good camp” is not as it seems… Everything requires a thorough, careful preparation…
So, Lily was the one acting and Monique was a kind of guardian angel…
Anyway, if you pay attention to the unfolding of the story, you might learn a lot about all of this, while enjoying the experiences that these events will bring you…
And, as a kind of ending, this thing of people, called “covering”, forced the two sisters to do, as much as possible, the same things. So even if she handled the planning, Monique was just as well trained for action as Lily. Something that was no longer valid for Lily either… She was a bit more different… She couldn’t be as methodical, and organized as Monique, being a man of action and for this reason, she avoided learning as much as she could additional information about mission preparation and the like.
And this, since childhood, when almost entirely, Monique was the one who went to school, she gave all the exams, etc. Monique was the one who had to think of everything, Lily being spontaneous… Maybe also because they had complete trust in each other…
The girls, on the other hand, were constantly required to “sync” as their military-style regulations called it. What does all this mean? As often as they could, they presented to each other, in great detail, often using recordings, everything that the person who went “outside” did and had contact with other people. They had to know in detail what the other did in the presence of people, so as not to pretend that it was about another person…
But, right from the start of our story, things couldn’t be so perfect anymore… As I told you, everyone has their own experiences, their goals, and why not, regardless of the person’s resistance, the goals of our soul intervene, those several times different from the goals of the reality experienced by each of us… You will understand all this, my dears, along the way…
- Ohhh, I keep forgetting to give you minimal details about the family of our heroines, details that are especially important when it comes to their highest goals…
Therefore, our little girls were born into a family where their father, named Fran Touran, was an elite military man. Their mother, Adeline Touran, is a military wife, even if her activities had nothing to do with the military… She was simply as happy as possible in such a family.
And, at one point, when the mother was carrying the girls in her womb, Fran went on a mission where she managed to… Die… You will discover the story along the way. So, when our girls were born, without a father… Their mother was quite devastated by the loss of her loved one and one of the children, she considered herself unable to raise the girl left alone, looking for solutions…
And these solutions came from where she least expected…
Since Fran was a military man, he was under the supervision of some “security” services and the situation created could not go unnoticed… The army or some structures parallel to these human concerns, ran a program called “Doppelganger” … This program had the role of “circumventing” the particularly strong, stable social systems of this future world where the action takes place (at least at the beginning of the story) …
And here is what it was about, in detail, about this program “Doppelganger”!
That institution, called “Center”, was looking for identical twins, as is the case with our heroines. Right at birth, when it was found that the puppies were born alive, without physical or other problems, the proposal came to the parents that these “leftover” children be taken over by the army where they will have a special destiny…
As the army has always been an illusion strangely accepted and liked by people, the vast majority of parents without problems entrusted the remaining child to this “great destiny” … Especially since don’t forget, they were already facing the news that they had lost one of their children … Very few of them refused… Insignificant…
The more caring parents asked some questions, but they were easily avoided by the answer that everything is an “absolute secret” and that everything is a “great future destiny” … I can’t explain too much, the parents immediately “bite” the bait… At least, the vast majority of them…
Forgetting that the army means brainwashing, depersonalization, human cancellation… Only the promised greatness mattered.
And, especially in the case of the mother of our heroines, the entrustment was ensured… She had mental medical problems anyway, accentuated by the death of Fran and, therefore, she signed without many studies a contract “for entrustment, education and schooling “…
And, thus, our girls were taken to be raised in this “special” military training “Center” …
There followed, for our heroines, stages of intense training… From the youngest age… In every imaginable way be needed to create a kind of “super-soldier” type team… The parents, in our case only the mother, had the right to visit anytime and without problems… But she didn’t know that everything was just some kind of theater “played” to convince her… She honestly believed that she had made the best choice…
Then came the moment when Adeline noticed that sometimes her daughter Monique behaved strangely, and differently. Her soul had been signaling to her for a long time that something was wrong, not accepting the death of one of her daughters, always considering her as alive… Fran’s death felt real, and accepted, without doubting it.
For this reason, at the solemn moment of piercing the ears for wearing earrings, he refused to use the standard piercer and pierced the girl’s ears by the traditional method of rubbing the ear with salt and piercing it with a syringe needle. And he made sure that the hole was a little upward on the left ear…
Later, a few visits away, she noticed that her daughter’s ear was pierced with the perforator and secretly initiated the research. In her search, she was helped by Sir Corasdo, a man of major influence in those times, who meanwhile became her tutor.
He certainly forced the authorities at the Center to recognize what was happening. Their refusal was impossible because she secretly researched and found enough clues to facilitate a positive response for her from the “center”. Here, of course, Corasdo also intervened… But there followed the contractual confirmations related to the program and the despair that nothing could be done both by her and by the influential Corasdo… Everything was as legal as possible…
However, moments of special happiness followed, impossible to overshadow by the reality that governed the “Doppelganger” program. Adeline was a happy mother… Simply… But what was more important was the fact that she had relief from her anger and despair that she could sign that “no way out” contract, entrusting her children.
She saw how her girls grow up, they are educated, trained, beautiful… The military uniform is created in such a way that it delights anyone, looks good on anyone, “gives good” in any situation… Emblematic things, performances, all kinds of decorations, degrees awarded … The illusion of success … Since the beginning of time, this visual and intellectual nonsense has worked with maximum efficiency … Without a doubt …
But at some point, the moment of truth came…
Out of convenience, perhaps also because of everyday life, the mother did not realize that she could not have both girls with her and that she was only allowed to have one of them… Even though she received quite a lot of credits (money) for this “sacrifice” … Her protests no longer had any meaning…
All he had left was the joy that he was permanently with one of them… One by one… And this is due to the necessity of this training program, called “covering” by the military. Let’s see what this consists of…
Without their mother knowing, in the papers, records, or whatever people call them, one of the sisters was declared dead… It’s about Lily… In official life, only Monique was alive… Remember, their mother didn’t know what the military authorities had done… And, for this reason, one of the girls needed to have a social life, to play the role of Monique…
It wasn’t difficult for Monique because she was “playing” her role… It was more difficult for Lily… But the military had thought of everything, they had experimented with all practical options because the “Doppelganger” program had already been going on for more than five generations (hundreds of years) …
So, under the signed contract, the mother was allowed to take a child with her as much as possible and raise him… Without knowing that the military had a kind of program called “synchronization” that forced our girls to tell each other, to record everything that was happening, so that any meeting with one person was also known by the other…
That’s why even their mother couldn’t tell them apart… By growing up and wearing earrings, the identifiable difference in the left ear had lessened… And the girls perfectly complied with military rules. They did not cooperate at all, especially because they, somewhere in their souls, blamed Adeline, whom they called mother, only out of compliance. Moreover, either through the influence of military psychologists or simply by decision, the girls wanted to take revenge on Corasdo, whom they considered to be the main culprit for their situation (you will understand why).
“Which one is Lily, which one is Monique?!?” remained the main question for a long time… Psychologists and other military personnel involved in the education and training of girls were anyway doing everything possible to make this distinction between girls impossible… They could not be blamed for what they were doing because everything was in the interest of the girls…
However, somewhere after the girls came of age, Adeline realized who was Monique and who was Lily… In certain moments of joy mixed with surprise, Lily smiled a little on the right, wrinkling the base of her nose, accentuating the dimple in that cheek… That smile was the smile to Fran, unmistakable to Adeline.
Corasdo had confirmed this detail by analyzing all the data he had at his disposal and, from that moment on, they had also identified other gestures specific to each girl… Everything started with Fran’s smile.
And, Corasdo had suggested to Adeline not to reveal that discovery, to keep the secret for their joy but also to have strategic advantages in their struggle to free the girls.
