These topics are something that is not only something I have a great amount of knowledge and interest in, but it’s something that is always on my mind every single day.</p><p id="47c0">I address certain issues that many people would find queasy and uncomfortable. It was such a joy to be in a position to do what I love to do and be compensated for it.</p><p id="e70e">I’ve worked jobs for 10 years of my life and no matter how much money I had made, it never gave me that fulfillment that I yearned for. The last job I had was at the plant and even though it was good money at the time, I dreaded going to work doing something that I knew wasn’t for me — that wasn’t the purpose that God had set for me.</p><p id="1680">I love writing. I enjoy having real conversations about real topics that affect me and my community in hopes of spreading awareness and possibly making real changes. Writing to me is truly a joy for me to do. Medium Paid Me This Much For 5K Views — I Couldn’t Believe It

Their pay is way better than YouTube

When I first signed up for Medium, I didn’t really have any high expectations. I came across it after giving up on the whole “Freelance Writer” career path because it started to feel like a job to me. I wanted to be able to just write and express my thoughts freely on topics that mattered to me personally and get paid for it.

So I spent a couple of hours trying to find a way to be able to do that. There had to be a platform out there that was a right fit for me that would allow me to do what I wanted to do and be compensated for it. Then I went to YouTube and came across this video.

It sounded like my prayers had been answered. A platform that ACTUALLY paid people for their writing. I couldn’t believe it.

So I started digging up and doing more research on Medium. I liked how the brand was represented. Total free speech. No censorship whatsoever. Post as much as you want. Thousands upon thousands of other writers write about so many topics. To sum it all up, Medium is basically the YouTube version for writers.

Immediately, I signed up. I was all the way in and got into the Partner Program. I was excited for a minute, but I had to calm myself down and not get too excited.

Maybe it’s because I try not to put expectations on anything or anyone for that matter. After all, people and things tend to let me down. I just hate being disappointed, so I try to stay even killed about things that go on in life.
