Looking forward to getting up in her business

Newsletter & prompt #8: Martin finds it’s hard to keep secrets in this town

Image courtesy of Luxstorm on Pixabay

“The barrel needs changing,” Lucy called over her shoulder. As I stood watching, she shrugged her blonde ponytail over her shoulder before she filled my pint glass. I had a great view of the succulent curves of her cleavage, so I asked for a packet of salt and vinegar crisps. That way I’d get to admire her arse too. She turned and her denim mini hugged it like a ripe peach, making my boner strain against my jeans.

Lucy might be my fiancée’s younger sister, but her tight little body was too glorious to ignore.

I paid with a tenner and carried my pint over to the fruit machine. I’d been playing for about ten minutes when the pub door swung open and two burly blokes swaggered in, still wearing work overalls.

“Alright Martin?” the younger, shorter one greeted me as he passed.

“Evenin’ Wayne,” I responded, keeping one eye on the spinning cherries and pressing the nudge button.

“Waste of money,” his older, bald partner sneered at the game.

I just shrugged, my Dad’s always been anti gambling.

Now Dad and Wayne were propping up the bar, bantering with Lucy as they ordered their drinks. Lucy was smiling at one of Wayne’s crap jokes and probably thinking my Dad was old enough to know better. But he’s been giving my poor Mum the run-around for years.

I shook my head in disgust and took my half-finished pint to an empty table. I sat and tore open the crisp packet, then munched on its contents, savouring their tangy vinegar flavour. Living round here, the close community means everyone knows your business.

I wiped my greasy index finger on my jeans before speed dialling Alice.

“Where are ya?” I asked.

“I just got out of the shower,” my fiancée giggled.

“So you’re all hot and wet?”

“Summat like that,” she laughed again, her voice a little more husky.

“Shall I hurry home and show yer a good time?”

“Sounds lovely, but I wanna go out. Take me dancing?” my girl begged.

“Wear that dress I like,” I growled into the phone.

My length began stiffening just thinking about her tight pink dress. It has a short skirt and a zip running from its hem to her lower back.

“And what else?” Alice breathed.

Now I was stiff as a broom handle.

“Just your shoes darlin’. Meet me in the Golden Cock then we’ll go clubbing. I’ll give you a night to remember.”

Introducing this month’s prompt:

Maybe this month’s prompt isn’t obvious from that teaser, but hopefully the concept of a Small Town setting is appealing. A close community lends itself to many assumptions and misunderstandings from long association, as well as the option for sexy taboos. It’s also ideal for anyone wanting to write to a more homely, seasonal theme.

  • Take your stories in any direction you want, remember the genres we at Tantalizing Tales favour: erotic, thriller, supernatural, crime, romance.
  • Submit something to us which is set in a small town / community, full length stories or flash fiction. We will prioritise any prompt stories and publish as soon as we can, plus they’ll be featured in our next newsletter.
  • When submitting your story to Tantalizing Tales, please let us know it’s a response to a prompt by including it as a topic or adding the theme to your kicker or subtitle.
  • You’re welcome post your prompt story on another publication, just link it back to this newsletter and let me or May More know, so we can mention it in our next month’s newsletter.

All our prompts are evergreen, so you can write for any or all of the prompts we’ve offered so far. *Train *Stuck in a Lift *Darkness *Cellar *Misunderstanding *Change *Lighthouse *
