Know Yourself And Grow Yourself
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” — Carl Jung
I have been writing since I was a teenager but never had the guts to let anyone read or publish my work online.
I have been here on Medium since September 2021, sharing my stories and evolving through my writing.
Each piece is one more step toward wholeness. For that, I am grateful to find a platform where I can be anything and I choose to be Me.
If you have been reading my writing, it is a reflection of my life, personal experiences, and I write what I feel at that moment.
Every day with my writing is a new perspective, new information, adjustments to my thinking, new questions about life as I have been living it, and wondering what’s next.
The new year
Hope, for me, always emerged as the new year arrived.
The new year was not so much about looking back, as looking ahead and dreaming about tomorrow. I am looking forward to a time that will be more full of life, and some new experiences.
To find our way, we need to look inside. We need to find our answers to make sense of our lives.
When we look at others, we get drawn down their path. What’s right for them is not best for us. That’s why so many of you feel so stressed, lost, confused, unsatisfied, and unhappy.
“Without knowing what I am and why I am here, life is impossible.”- Leo Tolstoy
Realization
When we shut others’ voices, we gain clarity about who we are and what we want.
Explore the depths of your authentic self to release the fears, limiting beliefs, and pains that hold you back from being and your courage and commitment to go for what you most want in life.
Only a desire is required to discover who you are at your core. Sometimes we meet people, and we just know that we are going to be lifelong friends.
Believe
Recently one of my friends pointed out to me very precisely, how I managed to stay in touch with her after all these years though I usually don’t like people and I am somewhat detached when it comes to maintaining human relationships.
It made me think and I don’t have the exact answer. But I know somewhere I did things right and I am glad I have stayed connected all these years. Hope is more difficult than wishful thinking.
“Face the facts of being what you are, for that is what changes what you are.” — Soren Kierkegaard
Break-free
The only journey is the one within.” — Rainer Maria Rilke
Hope is not about waiting for things to happen. It is about believing in something (or someone) that gives direction to your life, rolling up your sleeves, and being willing to make the sacrifices required for a journey to a new place.
I think I have a lot more to think about this next year. Thank you for hanging in there with me this past year with my blog.
You give me an audience and the inspiration to continue putting my thoughts on paper and becoming clear about my faith and my life.
But slowly and steadily finally I can break out of my cage and discover who I was, on my terms — as a woman and as a human being.
And it’s been an incredible journey of self-discovery, self-love, and most importantly self-acceptance.
