MONTHLY ACHIEVEMENTS 6

It Has Been an Amazing Half a Year!

6 months of telling my story

Half a year has already passed by, and we are now in February! I’m extremely beyond grateful as Medium is an ocean filled with fishes but yet, you are still here reading about my writing adventures. I’m delighted and I have to express my love for this community. Many lessons learned have been thanks to some pieces written by so many people.

Do you know what else I’ve learned? There are so many writers that share tricks about writing. There are tons of useful tips and advice circulating around this platform and you can pinpoint each one and make it your own, your style. That is the main task, to not only follow the guidelines but to make them yours.

It’s important to drive into your creativity and allow yourself to follow where the ride is taking you. You can make many turns and maybe hit some curves, but that is the lesson experience.

For me, it’s writing about various thoughts. I once mentioned that I would write arbitrarily and then find my way to a niche, but I just can’t. One specific way is not ideal for me. I love writing haikus and then the next piece could be about the Seven Wonders of the World. I find it relaxing that there are no limits! 😄

My Favorite Pieces

February is time for celebrations and of course, we HAD to make some tamales. I shared how my family bonds throughout the making and oh boy are they delicious! And just like writing an article, you can add whatever you like to your tamales and make them your own! 😍

A new year starts with new projects and alongside Lady Dr. Gabriella Korosi and Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles, we’re trying to make a book come to life with the help of many writers. We are coming up with many ideas! ✌️

Let’s not forget about traveling! One of my goals is to visit at least four of the Seven Wonders of the World. Who wouldn’t love to go to all of them! They are so beautiful! 🌎

As I was reading about poetry, I found out about Pastoral poems. I tried out a different type of it, played around a little bit but at the same time, had the same intention. It was fun writing it! ⛺️

Stats and last month’s review

As you can see, I have not been able to have consistent engagement on the statistics, but there is so much support every day I come back to Medium! Every motivational comment I get pushes me to be a better writer.

Now for last’s month goals, I didn't have the improvement I was expecting. I couldn’t read the number of other writers’ pieces as I would’ve loved to. I have to pick up the slack as many of you take the valuable time to write mesmerizing pieces and I think we should also take to time to read them. Oh, and I didn’t reach the 35 bucks goal, I was $5 short! 😫

Goals for this month

  • Have better organization and perfect the quality of my pieces.
  • Read more pieces and engage with other fellow writers.
  • Interact with new writers.
  • Be more productive and therefore write if not every single day, more frequently than I have been lately…even if it’s just to share a thought, idea, quote, photography, or a quick reflection.
  • I would like to surpass 750 followers.
  • I’m sticking with 35 bucks, I hope this time I do succeed.

I also took part in a new challenge and it’s time for me to request some help! A new project has been to create my Newsletter through this contest and to be able to pass to the next phase, I need 100 likes! Please lend a hand and let’s make that number grow! 📈
