In Case You Missed It — 2022
In Case You Missed It — BEST OF 2022!
A Series of Top Nine Lists from 2022

Nothing inspires enthusiasm for a new year like coming to appreciate the one we’ve just lived!
Back when I was active on Instagram, I usually took the bait on the TOP NINE post at the end of each year where the Meta-bots would go through and find the nine images with the most views or likes over the course of the past year. Fun!
I’m not so keen on the Meta Universe these days and had shifted most of my online activity to, you guessed it… MEDIUM. And thus, I’ve decided to use this last week of the year to create my own series of TOP NINE posts.
I’m calling it…. In Case You Missed It! — 2022
In fact, you may well have missed it!
Not only have I been writing quite a lot since joining MEDIUM back in July, but on July 31, I only had 24 followers. Today, I have 742. Yay!
But in addition to writing on MEDIUM, I also enjoy keeping curated lists of articles that have particularly resonated with me. Those will turn up in my TOP NINE musings as well.
Not convinced yet?
Well, then! Here’s a teaser of what’s to come.
MONDAY: My Top 9 Stories about Social Nudity
This one seems like a no-brainer for the Meandering Naturist. As a lifelong naturist, I love to wax philosophical about the issues related to social nudity, itself. Take this piece for example…
THE LIST: “Top 9 about Social Nudity”…
TUESDAY: My Top 9 Stories about Nakedness by Other Authors
It’s been a pleasant surprise to learn that there are a lot of other authors on MEDIUM writing about nakedness. For those of us who wish to normalize nudity, that seems like a really good sign that the conversation about nakedness and body acceptance is going mainstream. Take this piece for instance, by Amy Sea…
THE LIST: “Other Authors on Nakedness”…
WEDNESDAY: My Top 9 Stories I Wrote About Vulnerability, Reflection, and Mindfulness
I often write about nudity as a metaphor for vulnerability and transparency — things that I strive for on a daily basis. Wednesday’s edition will focus on some of those pieces, such as this one…
THE LIST: “Vulnerability and Mindfulness”…
THURSDAY: The Top 9 Travel Stories By Other Authors that I Really Loved
We love to travel. So much so that we’re willing to put clothes on to see the world! And I’ve found MEDIUM to be a great place to gather travel intel for future bucket list destinations. There are loads of great travel authors, but I’m pretty much addicted to anything written by Anne Bonfert. You can whet your appetite with this one…
THE LIST: “Travel Writers I Admire”…
FRIDAY: My Top 9 — Most Appreciated Stories About Clothes-Free Travel
My previous blog on WordPress was going to be an international guide to naturist travel, as we’ve been to naturist places on six continents over the past 30 years. That’s still a work in progress, perhaps progressing a bit more slowly now since I’m writing more here. Friday will feature my favorite pieces about Clothes-Free Travel, like this one…
THE LIST: “My Best Naked Travel Stories”…
SATURDAY: The Top 9 Travel Essays I Wrote in 2022 That Didn’t Quite Hit the Mark
And finally, I’ll plan to land on New Year's Eve with an effort to collect a few travel stories that weren’t specifically about naturist destinations, but were memorable, nonetheless. A couple of those never got much traction here on MEDIUM so maybe this will be a good opportunity to give them a second chance. Like this one!
I have a bit of traveling to do this week so we’ll see how well I keep up on my own challenge. In the meantime, maybe some of my MEDIUM friends want to take up the challenge as well with a few of their TOP NINE lists! Nothing inspires enthusiasm for a new year like coming to appreciate the one we’ve just lived!
See you in the TOP NINES!
Enjoy this story? Please take a moment to clap! You can clap up to 50 times, and each time you do that, it helps move naturist stories up the queue in the MEDIUM algorithm.
I write about naturism, travel, and other parts of the human experience simply for the joy of writing. Totally worth it. But every time somebody spends time reading one of my stories, I earn a few cents to help pay the overhead costs of being a blogger.
It’s only a few dollars a month to subscribe to Medium, which gives you access to thousands of authors and their work. And if you subscribe by clicking through the link below, I receive an incentive for that as well. Support naturism and thoughtful writing. Subscribe to MEDIUM… below…
