In Case You Missed It — 2022
9 NAKED DESTINATIONS I wrote about last year that readers loved!
“Fleshing out” my TOP NINE SERIES before launching of into the new year.

I hope seasoned naturists can find some useful information here, while newbie nudity curious folks might take a dose of inspiration from this to give social nudity a try.
Over the past week, I’ve been emulating the Instagram TOP NINE feature where some algorithm determines your most popular posts over the past year. I decided to do that myself, using my own parameters and metrics.
As the Meandering Naturist, my original design on joining the MEDIUM platform was to share our naturist travels on six continents over the past 30 years. (We started when we were five-years-old! 😂) I’ve done a good bit of that, but have also meandered off into other topics and musings as well. But alas, many of my stories about naturist travels are performing very well.
In ranking order, these are my most read stories about naturist travel since I signed on last July.
Just in case you missed them!
This story got picked up on a social media thread someplace and has been one of my all-time top performers. Spoiler? We made recommendations for where a nakation curious person might go to give it a try for the first time. This is the North American edition. Hoping to do “Europe” and “World” editions in the coming months.
Family naturism is tricky. Some people think it’s weird. Some people think it’s OK, but simply don’t want to go on nakation at a place where children are around. This is a long read that explains our path to family naturism, and why it remains a meaningful part of our lives to this day.
Another big performer on MEDIUM! There are loads of Top Ten lists for nude beaches on MEDIUM, but I’m going to tell you that most of them are bogus! I suspect we’ve been to 100 nude beaches over the years. These are ten of our favs.
This is a recent story that got picked up by the The Naturist Society on their Twitter thread. (Thanks TNSF!) TL;DR — How to practice naturism when it’s cold outside and international travel’s not a viable option.
We love German saunas and spas. A lot of people don’t know that many of these places have expansive indoor warm-water pool complexes as well with amenities like elaborate massage jets and swim-up bars. Here’s our favorite spots in Germany. (I’m working on a similar post for The Netherlands, so stay tuned!)
In case the previous article piqued your interest, here a few more things you should know about the European spa experience. It sounds scary if you’ve never done it. But after you’ve done it, you’ll likely say, “Why did I wait so long?
Another story about family naturism that goes a bit beyond the earlier piece about our naturist story. We’ve never hidden naturism from our children, and to this day, they’re all still clothing-optional friendly. This is how that happened.
Yes! It’s another spa etiquette story. This one goes into the differences you’ll experience between German and Dutch spas. They each have traditional practices that are better known about before you go! If you’re traveling to Europe this winter, this is a must read!
I wrote this piece after taking a road trip across the United States, staying in naturist places wherever I could. Each place has it’s own unique, and often bizarre, set of policies, rules, and traditions. At very least, this might be good for a laugh.
So, there we are, 2022! It’s been a productive year for writing about naturism.
I hope seasoned naturists can find some useful information here, while newbie nudity curious folks might take a dose of inspiration from this to give social nudity a try.
Most people we’ve met along the way tell us…
Why did we wait so long to do this!?
Maybe 2023 is your year!
Enjoy this story? Please take a moment to clap! You can clap up to 50 times, and each time you do that, it helps move naturist stories up the queue in the MEDIUM algorithm.
I write about naturism, travel, and other parts of the human experience simply for the joy of writing. Totally worth it. But every time somebody spends time reading one of my stories, I earn a few cents to help pay the overhead costs of being a blogger.
It’s only a few dollars a month to subscribe to Medium, which gives you access to thousands of authors and their work. And if you subscribe by clicking through the link below, I receive an incentive for that as well. Support naturism and thoughtful writing. Subscribe to MEDIUM… below…
