I Sold My Soul for $5

My thoughts on Medium after my first 3 months

Photo from the author.

I sold my soul for $5. Well, $5.58. I put my most personal secrets, thoughts, and stories on Medium and I made $5.58 in November. I made $0.93 for October and $1.08 for September. I have 199 followers and joined Medium in August of 2021.

I’ve written about who I think I am, my childhood, postpartum depression, and losing a close childhood friend. I’ve written about deeply private things-like mental health, sexual assault, and why I write.

Did I expect to get rich? No. I am a contributor for Charleston Moms, have a local blog, a part-time job, volunteer with an international non-profit, and have two small children so I don’t have the time to dedicate to getting rich on Medium.

I was hoping for more interaction though. Maybe it’s too soon to tell.

Maybe I shared my soul for something better than money.
