I Reached a Medium Goal!

I didn’t know it was a goal, but I am delighted nevertheless.

I never thought I’d be excited, let alone thrilled, by stats. I am not a numbers person! Yet, I am chuffed to little pieces! Thanks, Medium, for letting me know via email of this first milestone.

Thanks to my ten fans: Sergey Faldin , Leo Serafico — I’m reading your article How I Almost Made $100 in My First Month Writing on Medium, John Gruber, Dean Rocheleau, René Junge, Inteloutside, Lanu Pitan, Rui Miguel — what beautiful poetry here, Grey Hen With A Pen, and Steve Webb, it’s wonderful to meet you.

There’s definitely a pattern emerging. Fans are, my fans (my fans!!!) are telling me that they like to hear about my journey on Medium. That (My Medium Journey will befinitely be one of several headers on the navigation bar — when I find out how to create it.

Are you wondering what I did last week?

Three things:

  1. The same as the first week, more information can be found in Thanks for Your Applause.
  2. Plus, what I gleaned from other writer’s work in the last week was that their words prompted, provoked, and caused me to react with inspiration, emotion, and action! I have titles and notes queuing up in my drafts — scheduled for this week, as well as every day so far (with the exception of Sunday which I devote to my conversation students, reading, and catching up with my family and friends) of my 2020 diary has between one and eleven!
  3. I book marked this Tips and tricks for Medium Writers.

Responses to tricky subjects

I’ve also discovered that by responding to other writer’s responses to my articles, some of which have resulted in a conversation, is rather rewarding. Meeting Chris Gardiner and reading about the correlations between his life and mine, regarding this article What’s All the Fuss about Spirituality Part 1 let me know that I wasn’t alone in my questioning. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, however, I think it’s something we should all be questioning rather than blindly doing what we’ve been programmed to believe and do with our lives.

What am I going to do this week?

I’m going to follow the tips about the Facebook groups for Medium writers from the article How I Almost Made $100 in My First Month Writing on Medium by Leo Serafico. I’ll let you know how it goes next week

One last stat for you.

At the end of my first week I had accumulated $0.13, as of yesterday it was $1.48. Can you see how just doing the basics, on a daily basis, is producing momentum?

It’s not all about the money, though!

I love when I get applause. I love even more when people read what I write. Don’t you?

I love that I can write about anything (seriously, I have to work on honing the topics I write about), and that I have fans and the opportunity to interact with so many fabulous writers.

Cheers, fellow writers, may your journey be as thrilling as mine!
