I Am A Badass
I am not a princess, I don’t need saving. I am a Queen, I got this sh!t.
Okay! I said it loud. Yes, I am a BADASS. And who doesn’t want to be called a badass? I sure do.
We may not have perfect body or hair or may be not like wearing makeup. Maybe our feet are tucked into boots instead of 6 inches high heels.
Who are we? We are the badass women.
I recently came across shonda rhimes quote where she says:
“I’m not merely lucky. No one who succeeds is merely lucky. Lucky implies I didn’t do anything. Lucky implies something was given to me. Lucky implies that I was handed something I did not earn, that I did not work hard for. I am not lucky. You know what I am? I am smart, talented, I take advantage of the opportunities that come my way and I work really, really hard. Don’t call me lucky. Call me a badass.”
My instance reaction was, more power to you girl. And aren’t we all badass in our own ways. But sometimes hesitant to call it out in open. But not this time.
Say it loud, You are a badass. Yes, You are a badass.
The thing is, you don’t need to be called badass by somebody else to be one yourself.
You are a badass. Yes, You are a badass.
Now, I’m finally learning to unravel the badass that is within me that was hidden away most of my life, trying so hard to follow conventional paths but those efforts got me nowhere.
But actually what exactly it means to be a badass?
Where I can be anything and I choose to be Me.
The badass woman…
…isn’t a slave to beauty standards.
…says No without apologizing.
…believes in herself and own intuitions.
…follow her heart where ever it might lead.
…isn’t apologetic about her mood swings or PMS.
…has lots of opinions and isn’t afraid of voicing it out.
…take action in spite of fear.
…not worried about what other people think.
…isn’t worried about losing a lover/boyfriend over his standards for feminine beauty and sexuality.
…allows herself to breathe and give equal importance to her needs and wants.
…allows herself to express her sexuality in anyway she wants.
…is sometimes very loud and accused of being “too passionate.”
…doesn’t care about other people’s opinions of how she dresses.
…love herself no matter what.
We are so much more interested, so much more relatable when we show what makes us different.
Being ourselves gets people intrigued and interested, and most importantly, being ourselves helps people to see themselves in us.
So let’s try this.
Be a Badass in your own way.
Be Bold
Be Courageous
Be Your Best
