In my past stories, I’ve chatted about some awesome movies and TV shows, and you can find the links to those gems down below.

But in today’s post, let’s dive into something super cool — an Airbnb that’s basically like stepping into Shrek’s swamp in real life!

Hey there, fellow Shrek fans! Guess what? Shrek’s iconic swamp house is now up for rent on Airbnb, and it’s an ogre-tastic experience you won’t want to miss. So, kick back, relax, and let me give you the lowdown on this enchanting getaway!

First off, Shrek’s Swamp is nestled in the stunning Scottish Highlands, making it the ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. This place isn’t just a run-of-the-mill vacation rental; it’s a meticulously crafted replica of Shrek’s humble abode from the beloved animated film. Trust me; they’ve nailed every little detail!

Shrek’s Swamp is surrounded by winding trails, cozy picnic spots, and lush forests filled with conifer trees. What’s even cooler is the limited light pollution, which means you’ll be stargazing like a pro on clear nights. Nature lovers, this is your paradise!

Inside the home, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped right into the movie. The floor is, well, dirt, just like Shrek’s place in the film. There’s a rustic wooden bed where you can catch some Zs and a dinner table with a candle that’s a dead ringer for Shrek’s earwax candle. It’s all about the atmosphere, folks!

Now, in the movie, Shrek had an outhouse, but in this real-world version, you’ll find a more conventional bathroom setup. There’s a toilet, sink, and shower about 20 meters away from the swamp. So, you won’t have to go full ogre-mode when nature calls.

And don’t worry, outside the house, there are signs that say “Beware Ogre” and “Stay Out,” just like in the movie. It’s the little touches that make this place so special.

This unique property is owned by the Ardverikie Estate, and it’s worth noting that they’ve paid up for the rights to use the Shrek and Donkey characters. Also, Airbnb is spreading some love by making a one-time donation to Scotland’s HopScotch Children’s Charity as part of this whole Shrek-tastic promotion. How cool is that?

Now, mark your calendars because this dreamy spot is available for booking for just one magical weekend: October 27–29 this year. The booking window opens on October 13 at 6 PM BST. Make sure you’re ready to pounce on that opportunity!

And just to clear the air, this isn’t some contest where you have to cross your fingers and hope to win. Nope, you’ll need to shell out the moolah to get to Scotland and pay for your stay. Unfortunately, the rates aren’t posted on the Airbnb listing, but hey, for a chance to live like an ogre, it’s worth it!

Final Words

So whether you’re a die-hard Shrek fan or just looking for a unique getaway, Shrek’s Swamp on Airbnb is where the adventure begins.

Get ready to live out your ogre fantasies, and remember, in the words of the big green guy himself, “Better out than in, I always say!”
