How to Use the Power of the Subconscious Mind to Change Your Appearance

No drama. No diets. No forcing. No judgment

When you look in the mirror, what do you tell yourself?

Do you praise the reflection smiling back at you? Do you pity yourself and criticize every inch of your body? Perhaps you avoid looking in the mirror for fear of being judged?

Whichever option you choose, consciously or unconsciously, determines your story. It affects your psyche, limiting beliefs you nurture daily, only to become trapped by the self-talk that either boosts your confidence or deteriorates your mood and self-esteem.

Change your conception of yourself, and you will automatically change the world in which you live. Your opinion of yourself is your most important viewpoint. You are infinitely greater than you think you are.

You may say: well, it looks so easy on the paper, but in reality, it is a different story. Again, this is only a narrative you tell yourself. If you persist that healing, mental diet, remaining indifferent to people’s opinions is difficult, it will remain so until you change the belief about it.

You see, your subconscious dictates your reality. Whatever you see is only the reflection of your imagination. Whatever you experience is conditioned by beliefs you soaked in from the very early stages of growing up. However, you get to change that story.

When you dwell on your imperfections, you create limitations on your subconscious. Those limits condition how your life unravels. When you criticize yourself, you can only create from a place of lack, not being enough, not loving yourself. The cycle goes on. Break the pattern.

What you believe about yourself to be true will always be reflected in your world, how people treat you, what ‘accidents’ or blessings come your way. If you believe that you are not attractive enough for somebody to like you, that will be the truth. If you need compliments to make you feel better by r chasing external validation, your mood will always be conditioned upon how others treat you. You will always feel not enough.

The subconscious does not care about the truth. It soaks in whatever you tell it.

Become mindful of your self-talk.

How would you treat your body, your reflection, if having that desired appearance?

I bet you would praise yourself. I bet you would accentuate your curves. I assume you would not feel ashamed for the way you look. I bet you would celebrate your body, care for it, listen to its needs. You would feel energized, ecstatic, and full of life and confidence.

Then start acting like it without needing external confirmation. After all, you do not need the outward condition to make you feel in a specific way. You can conjure the feeling without external praise. Your imagination and self-discipline are your greatest treasures.

As long as you look in the mirror to find fault in your appearance, your journey to a perfect body will not yield you long-term results. No matter how much effort you put into dieting, exercise, or pills to gain weight. The more you try to control the external world, the more it fails you.

It all starts within the mindset.

There is no such thing as an outer source. You are the cause of everything in your life. Like it or not, that is how your subconscious mind projects into your reality.

Change how you look at things, and they will follow suit. Your outer world will change as well. As long as you criticize yourself, your body will not change for the better. Your health will deteriorate. Your hormones will spiral into a stress response.

You have been criticizing yourself for such a long time, demanding illusionary perfection. Did it help? So how about changing the approach and appreciating the reflection in the mirror? How about appreciating that marvelous body of yours for how it keeps you alive and on the move?

To seek on the outside for that which you do not feel you are is to seek in vain, for we never find that which we want; we find only that which we are.

I speak from experience. Since I have incorporated this approach, I crave less food, different kinds of food. Humans do not need overindulgence to prosper. I eat because I have the appetite or fully enjoy it. Not because of boredom, a form of rewarding or overcompensating for lack of enjoyment.

It is not magic, but a simple shift in choices. Your subconscious treats the world from a different angle than when you were depressed, angry with your past decisions.

When I eat pasta, I relish in step-by-step preparation and then enjoying every bite until I feel satisfied. I have found other forms of enjoyment without external boosters. Gratitude, simple rays of joy peeking through my day, my unique perception of this world, kind gestures. They all come from within, not as a form of condition from the outside world. When you raise your vibes, the food you reach out for matches those high vibrations. Naturally. Organically.

Stop thinking about yourself as a mere mortal human being who is conditioned to the external power that dictates all circumstances in your life. Stop applying logic to how the subconscious works. Logic is very limiting, especially when it comes to imagination. And imagination is the source of your creation. Your reality is completely malleable. It goes with the ebbs and flows of your beliefs.

Many people doubt their dreams by overthinking how the desire may come true. People will come up with a million excuses as to why something may not be possible. Little do they know that the subconscious is all-knowing. Even though you don’t have the logical explanation for your dreams coming true, your subconscious already knows the right path. It will lead you to it if you trust and persist in knowing that your dreams are coming true, no matter what.

That is it. Sounds easy? Because it is. You have to believe it. I think many people doubt the power of their beliefs because of simplicity. We have been conditioned into hard work, hustle, and making something happen that we hardly believe getting anything we want can be that easy. Once we come face to face with a simpler approach, we automatically assume it to be false, as we have been brainwashed into striving for fulfillment as if it was elusive, something we need to work hard to get by. Nothing can be further from the truth.

Any fulfillment, happiness, satisfaction comes from within and the meaning we attach to events, people, circumstances of our lives. You create your reality, and nobody can force you into believing otherwise unless you allow it. The power always lies within you.

In short:

  • believe you are the source of all creation
  • the world will always yield to your assumptions about it, just as your body will change due to your expectations
  • hold the belief that you are beautiful, sexy, amazing, healthy, radiant, abundant in love (you can do it through affirmations to change your self-concept)
  • be patient with changing your assumptions and persist no matter what you may encounter in the external world.
