Crafting An Engaging Story
How to Make it Big in the Publishing Industry as a Self-Published Writer
Writing is a complex process with many nuances and intricacies, some of which are more popularly known than others

Not all good reads are bestsellers.
There is a long list of fantastic works that have never been given any recognition or recognition from the market.
In many cases, it is not the talent of the writer.
More than ever it is an industry that does not recognize the demands of the public or does not know how to present what is good to a wide, diverse public.
Fortunately, today there are more opportunities than before to be read by a wider audience and have commercial success.
There are many ways to create your own publishing method: from self-publishing on Amazon or Smashwords to traditional publishing with a New York publisher.
Many authors believe that traditional publishing is the only way to write a book and sell it. Not so. In publishing, this is called “the megaphone effect”.
When you publish with a particular publisher, they are the ones who will publish your book and make all the media appearances, whether in print or other platforms.
The real opportunity goes to self-publishing, where you can decide how many copies you want to make and what will be your own media appearances.
Since the time of Socrates, humans have been debating about their purpose in life.
Some people say our role is to teach others through words and actions, while others believe that writing is an art form for personal reflection.
But what about those of us who do it for a living?
Most people who write on a daily basis would admit to the existence of at least one common misconception about writing, but what do you need to know about these mistaken beliefs?
Maybe you’ve decided to become a writer without ever learning how to write well.
Every author has a story; They either grew up in a city, took an online course, or completed a correspondence course.
Writing is a personal endeavor, which means it may not be the right choice for everyone.
As such, there are a few common misconceptions about writing that you’ll want to be aware of.
1. Writing Is Hard It’s true, it’s hard. Writing isn’t easy — if it were, anyone could do it.
The truth is that writing is hard for the same reason that being a parent, artist or engineer is hard: It involves personal sacrifice and passionate dedication.
2. There Are Rules To Writing There are no rules to writing, other than the one that says “write what you know.”
The way to develop your voice as an author is by writing everything you can get your hands on.
For instance, many people who’ve taken writing courses think they must include a character who’s a member of the opposite sex.
They think they need to begin an essay with a quote or a question.
While it’s true that most writing instruction emphasizes techniques and structures, no one rule really governs the way people communicate in print and on paper.
3. Writing Should Be A Team Effort Don’t let anyone steer you away from your literary baby.
Your book is your baby, so nurture it, love it, and let it grow.
You’ll be happier if you do.
4. Fame & Fortune Will Follow Fame and fortune follow those who’ve earned them; writing does not.
It’s possible for an author to become famous for writing, but it doesn’t happen overnight.
It takes time, persistence, and a great deal of skill.
Writing on medium has taught me one thing about becoming a successful writer, that is to write for the sake of writing.
Add value to those you write for and you will most certainly achieve great things.
5. The Reading Public Is Into Writing Those who make their living with their pens should know that there is no such thing as “the reading public.”
It’s a myth propagated by those who want to earn a living in the book industry.
If you want to succeed, write what you know or what you think is interesting.
Nothing will come of it if you do anything else.
I will say this write for your readers if you want to get popular at any cost.
6. The Key To Writing Success Is Luck Luck — is when preparation meets opportunity. Well, partly true.
In fact, there are a number of elements and factors that play a role in the success of a writer.
The truth is that it’s up to you to carve out your own niche and to make an effort to tell your story in the best way possible.
Writing is a pleasurable but sometimes frustrating pursuit.
Having a clear and honest understanding of what writing is will help you to make more of your time spent writing and will ensure that you are striving toward your highest potential.
In fact, it’s a writing myth that an author can’t achieve success on their own.
Contrary to popular belief, the path to becoming a successful writer is no longer paved with rejection slips and writing classes.
Today’s top authors have taken advantage of the wide range of opportunities that exist for self-publishing online and have garnered readership and accolades for their efforts.
