Hitting $1K by Christmas is possible. In this series, I’m going to cover 5 different ways to get there! This is part 2!

In part 1, I talked about using a high-income skill that can make you money passively, to hit $1K by Christmas.

Read about it here…

What other options are out there?

Plenty.

How to make 1K by Christmas with….

Freelancing!

Yep, freelancing. Before you scroll, let me explain…

A lot of people think freelancing is just about doing what you do in your day job on the side.

You’re a web developer in your 9–to-5 so, you do freelance web development or you are a graphic designer and do freelance graphic design work on the side.

You definitely can!

But, there are other ways to make money freelancing…

  • Explore a passion, hobby or interest you have and make money with it
  • Connect buyers and sellers and do dropservicing
  • Do nontraditional freelance work for high pay and low hours

Let’s get into this.

Finding freelance work

First things first, where do you find freelance work?

The freelance sites…Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer, Guru..there are others too. Start here.

Get onto Twitter and search for niche Twiter in your niche.

For example, there’s “writing Twitter” and “UGC Twitter.” “Blogging Twitter,” “niche sites Twitter,” “crypto Twitter,” etc.

To find your side of Twitter, go to search bar and type in your niche.

Start hearting some conversations people are having that look interesting.

Follow some Twitter users in your niche and Twitter will start serving you more content like that.

So, you’ll have a little niche community on Twitter that they’ve cultivated for you. It’s awesome!

Once your Twitter feed is ready, network.

Ask questions, contribute to conversations, and tweet.

Twitter is a great place to find freelance clients.

Do the same thing on LinkedIn. You’d be surprised at how many people approach you and ask about your work.

You can also go to Reddit, share a case study or success story, and watch your inbox fill up.

These are prime opportunities for finding freelance work opportunities.

Monetize a passion with freelancing

Start on Upwork. Search for your passion or interest and bid on those opportunities.

Examples…

Create UGC-style short-form videos

Upwork

Video editing

Upwork

Design Pinterest pins

Upwork

Explore dropservicing

This is where you’ll connect buyers and sellers, and earn a commission so to speak, for making that connection.

Kind of what Upwork does.

For example, you attract clients for graphic design work.

You charge $1,000 for business logo design and get 3 clients (or $3K). Then, you outsource the logo design work to freelancers and you pay them $600 for each design, keeping the difference, $400 per client.

Pay freelancers $600 per client, keep $400 per client!

So, for those 3 clients, you made a cool $1,200 just for making that connection!

You can do this in all kinds of industries: web design, web development, animation, illustration, editing, etc.

Nontraditional freelance work

These are jobs you might not see on Upwork. Go to niche sites for these kinds of gigs.

  • Being a bridesmaid for hire
  • Working as a line sitter (holding a place in line for someone)
  • Being a friend (a good listener..this one is on Fiverr actually)
  • Virtual babysitting

Onto You!

What do you think?

This can be a side hustle that lasts beyond Christmas and turn into a new income stream for you.

What freelance job will you do to land $1K by Christmas?
