Twitter Side Hustles to Make Money on the Side

Photo by Alexander Shatov on Unsplash

I recently wrote about TikTok side hustles. I thought it only fitting to follow up with Twitter side hustles.

TikTok and Twitter are very different. These side hustles I found on Twitter are totally different from what I hear on TikTok.

If you want some side hustle ideas, keep reading.

Check them out.

Twitter Side Hustles to Try

Here we go…

1. Newsletter operator

Write a newsletter. Attract an audience. Monetize, make money, quit your 9-to-5 job.

This is the formula I see a lot of creators following.

Newsletters are one of the most underrated ways to make money. Here are some ideas for monetizing your newsletter:

  • Sponsored posts
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Sell products
  • Solo ads

It’s pretty low-cost to run. You could run a zero upfront cost newsletter on Substack.

For smaller operators, go with Systeme for $27/month which covers you up to 5,000 subscribers (higher-priced plans available for more subscribers) plus:

  • Webinars
  • Courses
  • Blog
  • Automations
  • Sales funnels
  • Affiliates
  • And, more!

It’s like a one-stop shop for your business. I recently ditched ClickFunnels and AWeber for Systeme, saving about $130/month!

My thoughts: Do this. If you have an audience online somewhere (podcast, blog, YouTube channel, TikTok channel, etc.) start a newsletter, ASAP.

I delayed this for years. If I hadn’t, I’d probably have hundreds of thousands of subscribers now.

It’s easy to get subscribers. You’re giving away valuable info for free. People want this. Then you can offer them great value in your newsletter.

2. AI-based side hustles

I see a little bit of this talk on TikTok but, it’s crazy on Twitter.

Here are some ideas:

  • AI YouTube channel
  • AI ebooks
  • AI courses
  • AI products

My thoughts: I feel like this is out of my league, personally. Some are within reach but, many make me feel like you need some serious tech skills to do. Just my personal opinion.

I really think the future is AI so if you get in early now, there’s a lot of opportunity.

3. Twitter Creator

I see many posts from people that went from zero followers to 2,000+ in 90 days and earning $5K+ per month in income.

Twitter is untapped.

If you’re good at community-building, there’s money to be made here. You don’t even have to come up with tweets. Just respond to others tweets. And watch your account grow.

My thoughts: Do this. Like newsletter creation, this is one to try, especially if you’re in business, tech, AI, or a related space.

I have been trying to be really actionable with this and get serious about Twitter. Haven’t mastered it yet but, hopefully I can get myself into gear this year.

4. Dropshipping

Dropshipping is an ecommerce model that cuts out the middle man. Instead of holding inventory yourself, as the ecommerce brand, your supplier holds the inventory and direct ships to your customers for you.

For example, if you’re a hat store. Your customer visits your website and buys a hat. When that order is placed, your supplier receives it, and ships the hat to your customer.

For you, that means no holding inventory, no picking, packing and shipping the order.

It’s genius.

My thoughts: I did dropshipping myself, for years. I also held inventory. Holding inventory sucks. Order fulfillment was a pain in my side.

But, dropshipping margins are so slim. It usually costs more to dropship because the dropshipper will have a fee for this service or price up the inventory to account for the extra work they’ll be doing.

I saw a post somewhere recently where a dropshipper sold either $100K or $1 million in a year in goods but only made $5K profit. Can you imagine?

Ecommerce is hard. Dropshipping makes it easier but, be prepared for razor-thin margins. If you can make it work, go for it.

What do you think?

Have you done these?

Which one would you try?

Note: Affiliate links are in this article which means if you click a link and make a purchase, I earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
