I’ve made $19,000+ from Gumroad — Here’s how I drive traffic to my products
I’m so happy I made the switch to Gumroad years ago. There are so many things I love about the platform and it’s the easiest way I’ve sold my ebooks ever.
It’s quite a feeling to wake up in the morning and see that you’ve made money in your sleep from digital product sales.

5 Traffic-Boosting Growth Tactics That Help Me Make Gumroad Sales
These are all 100% organic growth strategies so, if you’re looking for traffic-generation ideas, you’ll be happy to hear that paying for marketing is not required.
Let’s get into it.
1. Medium plugs
I’m an active Medium writer. I write about 15–30 Medium stories every month.
Some of my Medium stories are about my digital products, the problems they solve, and related topics. Others aren’t.
Either way, I plug them at the bottom of many of my Medium stories.

It’s so easy to make a quick plug like this at the end of your Medium stories. I actually have a few different plugs I use for various things…

- Getting my free ebook
- Joining my Substack newsletter
- Becoming a Medium subscriber
2. Pinned Tweet on Twitter
This is a low-effort way to promote your digital products. Pin a tweet on your Twitter account.
I’m not on Twitter much but, if I was more active, I imagine this would drive more sales.
It took two seconds to set up.
I’ll rotate this pinned tweet out too, but, it’ll usually point to my Gumroad store or a specific Gumroad product.
3. TikTok
I’m pretty active on TikTok, too. I run a handful of faceless TikTok accounts and I use the link in bio to promote my products.
Some of my link in bio links get thousands of views a month.
This is a great way to drive traffic to my Gumroad products.
4. My personal blog
I run a blog called Millennial Nextdoor which I publish to every month. I share my digital products in blog posts there.
It can be a dedicated post around the topic of my product or a plug within the content that makes sense.
5. Affiliates
Lastly, I use affiliates!

Just refer them to your signup page, approve them as an affiliate, assign their referral percentage and you’re set!
