How to Live in Joy
Day 21: How my love of finding rocks turns into magic

This piece is part of a 30 day series on living in joy in our home during the lockdown here in Oregon. Things are opening up, however we are remaining at home as much as we can. We have found a lot of joy in slowing down and enjoying our home more and each day I find little bits of joy at home that I love to share with all of you. I encourage everyone to find joy at home!
Today my story is about rocks. I have always loved rocks. I love to look on the ground wherever I am walking to find interesting rocks. One time was I was a kid I attented a local rock auction at a science museum. There, I bought some large geodes and large piece of petrified wood. I still treasure those beautiful rocks and I have placed them all around our garden to enjoy every day.

Lately, one of my little hobbies has been to pick up interesting rocks in the area where we have rocks spread out near our fire pit in the back garden. It is always so much fun to hunt for beautifully colored and unusual rocks there.
I feel that I have a magical connection with rocks. About three weeks ago I collected seven beautiful agates from the garden and set them in a pretty glass bowl in our home. I set an intention on them for something I had coming up- a special wish of sorts. That intention exceeded my expectations! I was amazed!
Since then I created another collection of special rocks and left them outside in a special group. Then, I collected a few more rocks of many different colors as seen in the photo above and set them aside in another special bowl in our home. For some reason, I listened to my intuition about what felt right to do with these rocks. I enjoyed collecting them, but knew that they should be in three groups.

Fast forward to today, I had a call with my accountability parter and we have decided to start a new coaching group together! This idea came to her a couple of days ago and she just told me about it. I am running two groups of my own right now online. The group we will do together soon is a third group! Thus, the intentions set on the three groups of rocks.
I truly trust that intuitions are very powerful indeed. If you feel called to something, pay attention to it. If something seems intriguing, investigate it. Follow through on those little nudges that you feel. Get very curious about the world around us. It is more mysterious than we know. Life is a winding path of wonder if we choose to follow it.
