How to Heal and Free Yourself From Your Family Karma

1. Cut The Ties

Karma is an energy attraction based on the cause and effect of the things we have done in many lifetimes. It is the seventh law among the 12 spiritual laws of the universe, and that makes karma very strong.

Family karma is the collective karma of ancestors and forefathers that affects younger generations.

When you are born into a family, you inherit or pick up the energetic patterns of the family. Children take on similar traits and habits of their parents and older generations without even knowing it, including beliefs, values, behaviours, and also, karma.

For example, one family may have a problem with another family and younger generations may grow up to feel the same way towards the other family. Or a family with many secrets will have children who have and keep lots of secrets of their own.

The causes of the family we end up in can have a strong effect on us and similarly, we also cause an effect on our children and others in the family through our actions, but fortunately for all of us, karma can be released.

You don’t have to be a victim of things that don’t belong to you.

You aren’t your mother. You’re not your father and some of your forefathers you don’t even know. You had no control over how your ancestors lived their lives, but you have the power over whether you repeat their patterns or end them for good.

To break free from your family karma, you have to make up your mind to do so. You have to set the intention to release and free yourself from it.

Setting that intention is the first and very important step, and it isn’t something you can do with your own power. You’ll need the help of a higher power or a guide or whomever or whatever supports you in this life.

Ask for help and guidance.

Become aware of the things you wish to break free from. Think of the people in your family that are stuck in that same pattern and ask your support system to hand you the karma scissors. Look for the strings and the chords that connect you and cut the ties.

Cutting the ties isn’t something you do once and you’re done. You may have to do it repeatedly depending on how far the family karma goes and how deeply rooted you are in it.

Every time you notice a pattern in your life that runs in the family, visualize the scissors and cut it. Each time you do it with a strong intention, you will feel a lightness in your energy. That lightness is your newfound freedom.

Now that you're no longer bound to your family's karma, you have to stay away from the drama. Stay away from it and focus on yourself because you probably don’t fit in anyway. The ones who came to cut the ties and free the children never do.

To break free from your family karma, you have to make up your mind to do so.

2. Focus on Yourself

Although family karma is collective, to break it, you must take your attention away from the family drama and bring it to yourself. It’s the best thing to do to save yourself.

Keeping the focus on yourself doesn't mean you stop loving and caring for your family.

Love your family no matter what.

Help when you can, but don’t overextend yourself so much that you’re trapped in the family drama and can't get away from it.

You must be strong.

Family karma has a way of pulling you back into old patterns and behaviours. When you make the decision to stay away from the drama in order to break free from the karma, people in your family will seem to need you even more. There’ll be even more problems for you to solve and things that require your attention, but you must remain focused to focus on yourself.

Know when to act and when to stay away.

Protect your energy and use it to empower yourself to create the life of your dreams.

Staying away from the drama doesn't make you selfish. It makes you spiritually wise.

Instead of getting involved in every drama, which only increases the karma, remove yourself and mind your business. Your business is to break free.

Mind your business and start creating goals for yourself so you have something better to put your energy into.

Family karma, if not cleared, will hold you back from moving forward and embracing your God-given talents. It will prevent you from experiencing true happiness in life, but when you cut the ties and stay away from the drama, you can direct your energy to build a life that feels good.

Remember, you’re staying away from the family drama and not the family.

Avoiding your family would have consequences of its own and create more karma instead of clearing it, but avoiding the drama and working on bettering yourself will clear the karma.

Keeping the focus on yourself doesn’t mean you stop loving and caring for your family.

3. Bless Your Family

The same way you inherited your family karma is the same way other members of your family have inherited it. Have compassion for your family.

Instead of being angry at them, forgive each one of them.

Forgiveness is an important part of breaking the cycle. You must forgive your parents and your ancestors for the things they did not know.

As you forgive your family, you will notice all the anger and resentment start to diminish from your life, and it’ll be replaced with peace, love, and newfound joy.

Your family karma may have affected you up until now, but once you shine a light on it, it loses all power and then you’re free.

There’s freedom and liberation in breaking a cycle and creating a healthier pattern for you and the future generation. There are blessings involved too for you and others.

Bless your family and send them love and light as they navigate their own journey.

Healing family karma might not be an easy task, but with focus and determination, you can free yourself and heal younger generations.

When you break free and heal yourself, you heal your children and your children’s children.
