How to Give Yourself the Best Chance When You Feel Stuck in Life
Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly, you are doing the impossible. — St. Francis of Assisi

"I have 5 minutes to talk."
After a pause, she started sobbing.
"I feel so stuck, Ruchi. I don't know what to do. I, my husband, and my daughter all want different things. And I am the main center of everyone. I want to run away someplace far. But I can't. I am so stuck."
Time flew from 5 minutes to more than half-hour.
Life kicks us all in a state of helplessness more than once. Losing control feels terrible. Feeling lost is a scary nightmare.
Everybody wants to run away from it. But if running away was the solution, this world would witness marathon champions everywhere.
Securing a physically comfortable life is easy. But to steer life according to your wishes is not.
You Can Never Outrun Your Life
Life may be sh*tty right now. It may not be easy to breathe. But you can not undo or outrun it.
Life is not about the past. Your choices, actions, and words are all in the past. It is about where you go from here.
There is only one way. The way is forward.
Running away from problems might seem the easiest solution. But the stuck feeling will never leave you till you deal with it.
Have you ever gone on to getaway destinations for vacations? What happens when you come back?
Vacations invigorate and refresh your limited perspectives. But using holidays or distractions to procrastinate never works. It is not a solution. After a small funfilled break, you are again back to square one.
- Look deeply where you are stuck currently.
- Understand where you want to go from here.
- You may not plan right away. But the idea is to stir the stagnation of your life.
Use your time wisely. Don't waste your time ignoring things that need attention. Past is a burden if you don't apply the lessons in the now.
If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello. — Paulo Coehlo
Accepting Your Fears Is Your Super Power
Everybody faces fear. Yet this sick society never talks about fears and apprehensions. Nobody dares to express it.
The truth is, you can never escape your fears. No physical place, howsoever luxurious, can make the worry go away.
Life doesn't come with guarantee cards. No job or relationship can assure you of happiness.
Life is insecure, and that is the way it is.
Your 5-year plan may be in dump within six months. Your lifelong partnership may break up within a few weeks. At any moment, your life can make a U-turn without your permission.
Your apprehension for security can never actually protect you from unseen twists and turns.
Acceptance is the only way.
Fears and anxiousness affect us all. But ignoring them makes things worse. For short-term satisfaction, you let go of the possibility of growth.
If a cat closes her eyes in danger, that does not make the threat go away. It still looms. Accept your fears, how so ever hard it may seem.
Accepting your fears is your appointment (or disappointment) with reality.
It may be the long-term neglect you wanted to brush under the carpet. It may be a loveless life or compromises you did. Acceptance exposes the comforting lies you fed yourself.
Accepting your fears reveals what steps you need to take. It does not necessarily mean that you have to take them now. But the clarity dawns.
When things go haywire, you know what could have prevented it. You will be ready to face it.
Accept yourself, love yourself, and keep moving forward. If you want to fly, you have to give up what weighs you down. ― Roy T. Bennett
You Deserve Another Chance — Be Gracious
Life is full of opportunities. We reject many because of fear and doubts. It traps you in the comfort zone of misery.
Don’t be afraid to start over again. This time, you are not starting from scratch; you are starting from experience. — Anonymus
Shuffle your life if you have to. Re-prioritise.
Life is not just a one-stop destination. It is a journey that gives you many chances.
When feeling stuck, give yourself another chance. You deserve it. Life deserves it.
- Chart your needs and wishes.
- Recognize what needs to be done first.
- See where you need external support.
- Start from wherever you are. Do what you can do immediately.
- Keep a deadline. Procrastination can make you slip into old patterns.
- Pace your journey according to you. But move forward as soon as you can.
- Be patient and kind to yourself.
It does not matter if you can not take bold steps. Little steps towards your growth are the golden key.
Build a support system. They are like battery backups. Ask for their help whenever you need it.
Above all, keep pouring yourself with love. Embrace yourself in love, forgiveness, and compassion.
Be determined to move forward in love. Accept your limitations. Don't let the outside success, circumstances, or people define you. Believe that you are enough because you are.
Takeaways
Life is like a river, whereas stagnation is like algae. Flow like a river. Keep reinventing yourself. The only destination of life is death. But in between, you have multiple opportunities to grow and enjoy the gift of life.
Learn from its lessons. Shake off the guilts and entrapments of the past. Plan and move on.
Be kind and compassionate towards yourself. Give yourself as many chances as you need. Experiment with the choices until one feels right.
Nobody can tell you how to move ahead or what you need to do. Your heart already knows that. Trust your heart and support it. Don't let fear overpower you. Life is to enjoy and not to drag till the end. And you always deserve a chance to rediscover it again.
Anytime we step out boldly to make changes, we take a chance that we might fail. But the only way to get better is to try. — Joyce Meyer
