How to make money online in 2023
The extremely useful writing advice you’re about to receive is based on lots of first-hand experience.
The material presents a number of creative ways on how effective self promotion can be used, and help you make more money in 2023.
I’m about to share a series of story titles and STRATEGIC details related to the stories I published the past year — specifically the ones where the main objective was self promotion.
NOTE: Although ALL my stories typically promote no less than three of my additional titles, there are certain stories that I wrote solely for the purpose of promoting a variety of monetized content.
By analyzing the examples provided here to help you; you’ll begin to notice one all important commonality in the material:
- All the promotional stories describe practical suggestions that can easily be implemented by the reader
- All the promotional stories demonstrate specific details and guidance on ways the reader can directly benefit
In other words, I strive to do an adequate job of telling you all about whatever I’m promoting, but in a way that can help you to benefit.
Using other writers to tell an effective story
If new writers on Medium don’t use any other writing advice being conveyed in this story, please be sure to utilize this:

One thing that will typically stand out in my stories, is my obvious efforts to promote other writers and their related stories, as well.

This is a splendid way to benefit more than just myself, and believe me, the effort doesn’t go unnoticed among readers.
The whole key to making more money in 2023, is for writers to do their best to:
Get familiar with simple self promotional strategies that you can apply again and again.
Now, let’s consider several of my visual examples that I selected to tell you about.
I’ll try to explain exactly how and why they work effectively as self promotional content.
Using relevant stories to engage Medium members
The best way to see an increase in your story related earnings, is to create relevant stories that keep your regular audience engaged.
For instance, a large number of my followers want to know all they can, to help them succeed on their own Medium journey.
As a result, I find that the most popular stories that they automatically consume, are the ones that can teach or demonstrate a profitable lesson about the platform.
If you’re creative enough, you can do this in a number of different ways.
Personally, I use three effective methods that really seem to work for me. Here are the first two:
1) Promoting others while promoting myself
and/or:
2) Using visuals and creative themes, to help readers appreciate how they directly benefit, even though I’m promoting something for myself.
Why do I think this actually works? Because…
For starters I’ve had quite a bit of success, discovering creative and fun ways to provide some type of visual representation, in connection with my stories.
Here were couple of stories I published, either related to the profitable use of images, or containing attractive images, to help compliment a story:
All of the above activities that I perform on a regular basis convinces me that:
…I learned the truth about self promotion!
I sincerely believe that I have come to discover the truth about online self promotion.
The fact of the matter is, no one likes a ham (a self-centered person), who is always talking about Me, me, me.
But sometimes readers don’t mind you singing your own praises, if you also happen to be singing the praises of others at the same time.
Of course, needless to say, it can sometimes be too time consuming to single out one writer to build a specific story around. So what about finding ways to promote multiple individuals in a single story?
In the past, I once wrote one story about 20 different stories that I had submitted to 20 publications. As a result, everyone involved was able to benefit.
This is the story where I named those 20 titles.
This self promotional story was lucrative, because it helped earn me money in the following ways:
- I earned money from the actual story that I wrote and published as a promotional opportunity.
- I earned additional money from all the extra eyes on the 20 previously published stories cited.
But in the process, I also helped successfully promote:
- The 20 different publications that I published my stories in.
- Several publication editors whose names I promoted in the story.
Using your writing to promote on and off Medium
Self promotion is an art that you can use and take advantage of, both on and off the Medium website.
Like lots of other self published authors on Medium, I promote my own fiction, plus other fiction authors on Medium, especially those with books for sale on Amazon.
Using Medium, in conjunction with my book titles on Amazon, is a form of self promotion that I started using right away, in my early days on Medium.
So wherever you choose to sing your own praises, it can benefit you, if you try to show a little love, and sing a few tunes about someone else.
Ask yourself…?
Do you use your ability to publish Medium stories that help magnify other stories, songs, and projects of talented creatives, regardless of who or where they are?
You can do this in so many different imaginative ways! Notice these stories with stunning visuals, that may help to give you a few ideas, including a fun music related theme.
In my personal life, art, music, and all the natural beauty that surrounds me is what keeps me positive.
That is why I never have any hesitation or reservations about promoting creatives and the imaginative work they all do.
That goes for Medium writers and everyone else…

The best part of any good idea, is the ability to repeat what you did, and still get great results.
That is why…
My 3rd method that I use to be as successful as possible with my self promotion is the act of REPETITION.
When you find something that seems to work for you, make it your business to keep doing the same thing.
In other words:
Wash, rinse, repeat…
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it…
A watched pot never boils…
Okay, that last one doesn’t really apply but you get the point 😄
