How Can I Burn For Someone I Have Only Read on Medium?

I am blown away by how my declaration of love post inspired a slew of romantic responses and a fellow writer to conduct a very thorough investigation to uncover my Medium love!

You might be familiar with the phrase love at first sight. How about love at first read?

Yes, I fell in love with a writer after I read his post for the first time.

Since I didn’t know what to do except try to process my feelings by writing about them, I did just that. Little did I know the post would go viral, spawning several DM’s, private messages, romantic posts in response to my article, and a bona fide investigation conducted by a Medium top sleuth.

Yes, I find it both exhilarating and a bit overwhelming, to be honest.

And it was only after reading the comments section that I realized that it is quite normal to fall for another writer…in fact, it does happen more frequently than one would think.

What I’m trying to say is it is nothing to be ashamed of because as writers we create romance, fantasy, entertainment, and so much more in the minds of our readers with our words that it is hardly a surprise if they fall in love with us and vice versa.

So, I decided to document my love story in the making for my readers (this is part 3 of the series — links below).

The Mirror soul connection

My love,

Have you heard of mirror souls?

Well, neither have I until I went looking for what I was feeling on Google. Some may think it cheesy, but hey, it gave me a perfect description of what I’m feeling right now: “A mirror soul is a connection that involves having an intense, immediate bond with someone not just physically and emotionally, but in a genuine, heartrending way, too. The moment you meet your mirror soul, you feel an undeniable pull toward them. They make you feel at home. It happens when you are instantly attracted to someone and you feel a deep connection as if your life from the moment you have laid eyes on that person.”

I would change the last part just cuz I have never laid eyes on you and instead say “from the moment I read you.’

To be honest, I may never have stumbled across your posts if not for the aforementioned mirror soul connection for it is not easy to catch let alone keep my attention. Therefore, I have no other explanation for it other than that I was irresistibly drawn to your name and the title of your post.

I read and I was hooked.

And the rest as they say is history.

You share these deep, sometimes dark stories of relationships past that deeply resonate… it is both intriguing, and fascinating and draws me in every single time.

And I am brimming with questions:

How do ‘you get me’ when others have tried for years and barely grazed the surface?

How can you see so easily through my writing persona and into the woman behind it — her longing, yearning — her heart?

How did you realize it is you I am writing about?

I’m curious to know because it happens to be a closely guarded secret that only my Medium big sis Donnette Anglin and Dr. Preeti Singh whom I am soul daughter to, know about.

Yes, they have both swung by to check on your posts. and yes, they both agree that you are full of words that can woo a woman’s heart.

I must say when I saw your latest, I was thrilled! You answered my call to action immediately and I was floored by what you came up with! Do you know I got goosebumps just listening to what you had to say about me and how I make you feel?

I’ve been walking on clouds, a stupid smile on my face ever since, knowing that you know, you care and most of all, you are letting me set the pace.

My love, pray tell me the story behind how you found me — a needle in this haystack called Medium?

Living in the now

It was both overwhelming and amazing to see how my Medium knights in shining armor came out in response to my love letter. I thought it very touching that they would not hesitate to slay dragons for me if ever the need arose.

One of them even seriously considered booking a flight to Boston to see me!

On the other hand, I have had some comments advising me to practice caution — my crush could be a bot, a scammer, or not the person I imagine him to be.

My response would be please don’t rain on my parade!

I love being in love, I love the euphoria, I love our exchanges, I love the celebration, and I love the fun discussions that are happening in my comments section and with all my readers who are playing detective.

So let me live in the moment…let me savor this moment…let me seize this moment….

Isn’t that what love should be like?

Even if it doesn’t pan out, I am a responsible and hardworking adult 6 days out of 7 and I sure as hell deserve to let loose and do something that doesn’t require every ounce of strategizing and marketing skill I possess.

🦋So, leave me be as I want to be like a moth to the irresistible pull of his fire….

Shout out to top Medium investigator Victor Cardenas for conducting a very thorough investigation into who my Medium crush might be (simply out of professional curiosity according to him😉) in a 2 part series. The Sturg, pockett dessert, and TzeLin Sam for encouraging/helping Victor with all his hard work!😜

Also, shout-outs to Michele Cambardella and Lyrickadesigns for participating in the fun!
