Growing Love For Others

Day 75: Acknowledging others brings more joy to all

I witnessed the beautiful blue sky out the window this morning. Small wispy clouds brought joy to my heart. The fresh air all around us envelopes us in a blanket of well-being. Each day as my feet touch the Earth, I am in awe of what the universe has to offer. I feel so fortunate to be on this 100-day spiritual journey, exploring the book Letting Go, by David R. Hawkins.

Today I feel the love and positivity all around me. This powerful energy surrounds us and our home. This is a brand new day, and life is full of wonder and possibility. It is time to spread light to everyone in my life and beyond.

I am so fortunate that I have so many caring friends and loved ones. I receive texts, calls, and emails from them daily. Sometimes I let these go for too long without answering them. For example, I had a message from my cousin in Denmark last week asking for a recipe, and another message from a cousin from last Christmas! I checked over all of my messages to make sure that I followed through with them. Now my goal is to answer them within one day. I feel more in touch with everyone, and they know that I truly care.

Anger can be offset and prevented when we see the enormous value of simply acknowledging the gestures of others toward us. This means to acknowledge all of their communications to us. For instance, if friends call us on the phone, we thank them for calling us. The reason for doing this is that it makes the other persons feel complete and secure with us. It is an acknowledgment of their value in our lives, and everyone feels pleased when we acknowledge their value. -David R. Hawkins

When we care for others with all of our heart, that care will be returned to us. This is such a simple concept, but sometimes we can get so wrapped up in our day to day life that we fail to reciprocate the love that is shown to us. Noticing that failing in myself has made all the difference. Awareness is the key to a more fulfilling life. When we own up to our shortcomings and choose to correct them, new worlds open up to us.

By this simple mechanism of acknowledgment, it is possible, within a matter of days, to transform all of one’s relationships in a rather dramatic way. This acknowledgment does not have to go on in the outer world but can take place within oneself. As we examine our relationships, we can ask ourselves, “What have I failed to acknowledge in those with whom I have daily contact?” -David R. Hawkins

By asking ourselves how we are showing up for others each day, we bring more love into the world. A simple question we can ask ourselves is: “How can I acknowledge those around me today?” When we care for others as we do for ourselves, the day brightens.

I was deeply inspired by an article by my friend Art Bram here on Medium. He wrote about how to treat others like they matter. He is the reason for today’s piece. Thank you Art for inspiring me to communicate more and love more. I appreciate you and all you do in this world!

My prayer and my intention for you today is that you look for ways to show others that you care about them. The love that you put out there into the world will multiply. How can you communicate more of that love?

How are you acknowledging others today?
