It’s plausible that Rockstar could be preparing to unveil the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 earlier than anticipated.

Now, what caught my eye in this one was the glimpse of the outside environment and some driving mechanics. It got me all excited thinking about the open-world goodness we’re gonna experience.
But here’s the thing, my fellow GTA enthusiasts, some of these clips floating around social media seem to be running on an old PS4 dev kit. That could mean they’re outdated, going back a few years. So, take ’em with a grain of salt. The final game might not even look like what we’re seeing in these videos. It’s like a game of wait-and-see, you know what I’m saying?

They announced that the development of the next Grand Theft Auto game is “well underway.” Now, hold on to your seats because this news comes with an extra twist.
Take-Two made a bold promise that they will release “several groundbreaking titles” during their 2025 fiscal year. And guess what? One of those bad boys is most likely the new GTA! Can you believe it? The anticipation is off the charts!
Here’s the deal with corporate accounting mumbo-jumbo: Take-Two’s 2025 fiscal year kicks off in April 2024. So, we’re looking at a release sometime next year, or at the latest, early 2025. But here’s the real juicy part — they’re not just aiming for ordinary games.
Oh no, these titles are set to “set new standards” for the gaming industry. They’re going all out to rake in a whopping $8 billion in net bookings during the fiscal year. That’s a whole lot of cash!
Let’s put this into perspective. Take-Two recently wrapped up its fiscal year with $5.3 billion in net bookings. And they expect the current fiscal year to bring in a bit more than that. So, these big releases better bring in over $2.5 billion in additional moolah during the 2025 fiscal year. Talk about high stakes!
Now, one of these mysterious games could be Judas, the upcoming creation from the mastermind behind BioShock, Ken Levine. But let’s be real here, it’s hard to imagine that Judas alone is the game that will bring in that eye-popping $2.5 billion.
That’s where the speculation comes in, my friends. Remember, Take-Two previously mentioned that GTA 6 will “set creative benchmarks” for the entertainment industry.
That sounds an awful lot like the “set new standards” comments they made today. So, there’s definitely a strong possibility that GTA 6 is one of the groundbreaking titles we’re talking about here.
But hold your horses, folks. Before we start popping champagne bottles, let’s not forget how often big games get delayed. It’s like a curse or something. Even Bethesda missed the mark with Starfield, as they couldn’t launch it on Skyrim’s 10th birthday as planned.
So, even if GTA 6 is currently scheduled for next year, say, September like GTA 5, we could still see a tweet with a sad apology and an explanation that the developers need more time for polish. It’s a harsh reality, but it’s better to keep our expectations in check.
Now, let’s rewind a bit. Last year, there was a monumental leak that spilled a whole bunch of details about GTA 6. We’re talking Vice City as the setting and two protagonists to play as.
