Fungi Nourished by What’s Beneath?

Eek! on the one hand, but, on the other … that wouldn’t be so bad, would it?

This wonderful mahonia graces the graveyard. It is much more luxuriant than the ones I see in people’s front gardens as I walk PupperJack around our local neighbourhood. It also has a lovely, delicate scent.

I’m not so sure about the fungi, though, growing all over the graves. It did make me feel a bit spooky thinking of what was beneath them.

Although I wouldn’t mind if I was buried with a tree on top of me, I’m not so sure about fungi …

It’s a good place for crab-apples, too. There are many birds and loads of squirrels in the graveyard. It’s like a larder for them. It must also be quite the refuge for them and other wildlife. I haven’t managed to get any decent photos of any of them, though.

PupperJack is the only wildlife I can get any decent photos of. Even then, I take loads to just get one or two good ones.

He’s got that look on his face that says he’s not terribly sure what’s going on right now, but he’s ready for anything, be it a screaming football match, a desperate attempt to stop me changing something lovely and dirty for something horrible and clean, or supper.
