Even After Spending 1 Year and Writing 26 Stories — Curators Still Doesn’t Like Me
My difficult journey on Medium without “curation”
I have started writing on Medium back in July 2020. Which means 1 year and 2 months. But to make it easy, let’s count it 1 year. I have spent a whole year and written 26 stories to date, but none of my stories gets curated.
Yes, you read it right — In 26 stories, none of them gets curated.
I know I was not that active the whole year. But I have read so much about Medium. Its curation guides, writing guides, etc. To ensure my success on Medium.
I have learned and applied many strategies to get curated. I used to apply every valuable strategy from expert and experienced writers to achieve curation but failed to get it.
I have also tried my personal strategies that I thought would help me with curation, like the “30-day challenge”. When I saw many people getting attention with this challenge, I also decided to start it. To get the attention of Medium’s curation team, but like all those practices, it also failed.
Although it was a really successful month for me, that was beyond my expectations. It helped me gain so many followers and increased my earnings by 4 times.
I know curation doesn’t guarantee you a viral story. If your story has the potential, it will gain attention itself. But sometimes, we upload our story to the wrong publication or with inappropriate tags, which kills its ability to be a viral hit. And that’s the time we need curation to give our story that initial boost.
I have heard, when you write 30 articles on your blog. You start receiving the initial boost. — So, does this indicate that I’ll get my initial boost soon?

Curation is nothing but an appreciation from Medium to the writer. Sometimes it helps a story getting its initial boost. So treat it like an appreciation, and don’t quit for not being curated.
Have you guys ever curated? — Respond to this story with your strategies and tips to help me. And many fellow writers, getting their first curation.
