“Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together.” — James Cash Penney
“I learned to always take on things I’d never done before. Growth and comfort do not coexist.” — Ginni Rometty
“The key to growth is the introduction of higher dimensions of consciousness into our awareness.”- Lao Tzu
We had another busy day with challenges of growth requiring constant improvement of the quality on our publication. We added 66 new writers who joined us today. ILLUMINATION writers are excited as we have more and more writers and readers each day.
We have 6407 followers. More importantly, we had 5273 new visitors to our publication today. Feedback and new content requests from readers are increasing. Our diversity focus is geared to serve the requests of our readers.
Several of our writers leveled up, and their stories started gaining more visibility. Stories of some writers are even distributed to topics.
We keep momentum by providing feedback to improve the quality of content submitted to our publication. Our editors are relentlessly working on improving quality from several ends.
What did we create today?
I created three sets of curation list for our stories; one for non-fiction stories, one for poetry and fiction, and one for Mothers’ day stories. Here are the lists for your enjoyment.

How to get a mentor on ILLUMINATION
I emphasised the importance of mentoring as part of our cross-pollination initiative in the attached story.
Some writers who are in our Slack channel have already started the process; however, the practice is not widespread due to communication limitations on Medium. To this end, my suggestion to writers, especially new writers, to write a story about the areas they want to improve and request a mentor in those areas. Those who volunteer to mentor can leave comments on the articles. This activity can enhance our cross-pollination objectives among our writers in the publication.
Writer Introductions
We have one writer introduction today. I enjoyed reading this inspiring bio.
Meet our writer Julie Nyhus MSN, FNP-BC
100+ writers introduced themselves in their stories so far. This is an opportunity for our writers to showcase their writing portfolio.
I recommend all new writers to introduce themselves in an article. We compile these introductions, keep this resource on the first page of our publication and also share the file with our 6400+ readers. Please see the attached bio document as an example for creating your bios. Our readers are interested in our writers.

Content Quality Focus
Our current writers know that we strive for excellence. We aim to increase the quality of your stories and provide an enjoyable reading experience to our followers.
New writers: please ensure that you check your stories for typos, spelling, and grammar errors before submitting them to the publication.
We have some volunteering editors who can perform a proof reading for the writers from the non-English speaking background. You can search for volunteers from our Slack channel.
Please check our submission guidelines written by Kevin Buddaeus.
Plagiarism
Within quality context, I want to emphasize the implications of plagiarism for content development. We have zero-tolerance to plagiarism adhering Medium policies and global ethics. We check and decline plagiarized content. To this end, one of our editors, Timothy Key created an insightful story that can provide guidance on this critical topic.
