You drop down, slamming your axe into an orc’s kneecap. It hollers, collapses.

You roll to the side, more sword blows missing you, then get to your feet by the fire. An arrow punctures one orc’s throat — Dara is there. As the third advances, you swing your axe and behead the foul creature.

The orc band had been reinforced by another dozen, but all are now fallen or fled.

“This way,” says Dara excitedly, pointing. “The reinforcements came from the cliffs north of here. It must be their base!”

You look round; behind, Bruno is chasing a lone orc survivor.

You decide to…
