Machine Learning Art
DALL·E 2 alternatives, text-to-image
update 2023

A story about AI-generated art. I like to call it “art with a purpose.” It’s the first time you’ve seen this type of technology in action, so if you’re not excited yet, wait until you know what it can do.

AI art maker
From designs and drawings to photographs and 3D models, computers have been able to generate art for several years. In fact, many online services can make it look like you are a great artist, even if you aren’t. However, it has not been possible to create new art from scratch using just words before. This is because artists need a lot of training to develop their skills. It’s also because they need a lot of creativity to express their ideas initially.

I propose a story by Dariusz Gross #DATAsculptor, my favorite quote:
“The enemy of art is the absence of limitations.” Orson Welles
As an AI Art curator, I have many questions about what can be done with this new model. While I’m waiting for access (on the waiting list is several hundred thousand artists), I also use alternatives like this one in various ways.
However, this particular one is the first completely free and usable. Dalle has some limitations, which is why I am writing this article. First of all, you can’t create images for commercial purposes. You cannot sell them or use them for business purposes. This means that you cannot create something from a movie or a book, such as a cover or illustration for a book, magazine, or film poster. In addition, OpenAI introduced a limit of 50 generations per day. DALL·E 2 will also watermark your images. The second limitation is that the maximum size of the generated image is 1024x1024 pixels. For some people, this is a significant limitation. For others, it is not a problem. I think this size is perfect for social media, presentations, or websites. [update september 2022]
A stellar alternative to DALL·E 2
The models I use as a replacement are unrestrained. We are at a turning point in the history of art. AI-generated art gives artists a new form of expression, allowing them to explore and create new ideas. Machine Learning Art introduces them in a few articles.

AI Art is an excellent way to share your ideas with the world. It’s free so that everyone can enjoy it.
I’m glad that you are here, and I hope you have fun experimenting.

Data Scientists must think like an artist when finding a solution when creating a piece of code. Artists enjoy working on interesting problems, even if there is no obvious answer.
