Chosen for Further Reading (February 2021)

Read some excellent stories and blow your mind

Photo by Josh Hild from Pexels

February was eventful.

We have edited and published so many excellent stories written by our talented writers all across the globe. On Valentine’s Day, February 14, we introduced a segment Valentines Day Special where writers shared their untold love stories.

We have changed the design of The Masterpiece, highlighting the exceptional stories on the front. Now it is more well-organized, gorgeous and good-looking.

Another exciting news is — a few days ago, we created a new publication, The Environment, solely dedicated to environmental issues, nature, and wildlife. We invite all the writers and readers to become a part of this sensible community where people talk about the natural world and find ways to coexist peacefully.

That said, as always, we are encouraging you to read the masterpieces we have chosen for further reading. We have selected eleven mind-blowing stories for you.

So, get ready! Let’s have an exciting reading experience.

The Butterscotch Queen and Her Sexual Frankness

written by Walter Bowne

He would show me naked photos of his girlfriends. In some, his penis made a guest appearance. “I’m as ugly as a jackal,” he would say, “but if you ask enough girls, you’ll always have someone to screw on Saturday night.”

He was a self-proclaimed dirtball who had no ambition to be anything more than a hotel set-up guy. This astounded me; this total lack of ambition. He was a genuine outcast. As long as he had beer, a smoke, a vagina for Saturday night, the Yankees, and the Dead, well, that was a successful life. And now his girlfriend was hitting on me.

Tears, Fears, Pride for the Stars and Bars…and, Yes, Hope

written by Shayla D. Potter

Who is ‘they’ Pop-Pop, I asked. Scared. Confused.

Them, damn ni**er loving Yankees!

Son, our people may not have a lot. But, we deserve to live how we want. When grandpa got off that boat, as a stowaway from Ireland, his high hopes were dashed. He was treated a half step above the ni**er slaves. This war is proof no change has come. But that is about to change. Son, sometimes you have to fight. Fight for your existence. Fight against them trying to erase us. That’s why I need you to take care of your mother. Now, you are the man of the house.

Pop-Pop, will I ever see you again?

How Visiting My Native Village after 10 Years Changed My Idea of Happiness

written by S M Mamunur Rahman

They may not possess an MBA or MSc degree to earn their living, but they have mastered the HAPPINESS degree. They know how to live a happy and meaningful life while being in different towns, working for corporates, and meeting too many ambitious people — I failed to achieve.

Two weeks living in my native village and interacting with locals opened my eyes. Now, I realized that happiness is not just being ambitious or achieving financial success. True happiness is to enjoy and appreciate every moment we are experiencing in the present.

The corporate world puts you in a rat race for money and fame where the village life offers a gentle walk in serenity to enjoy the beauty of your surroundings.

The Sunrise That Gave Me a New Life

written by Chetna Jai

I found myself entitled, thinking I deserved it. I was determined to have a big house, my dream home. But, most of all, I wanted a south-facing backyard with a view.

I remember feeling stressed and disappointed each time we walked into a house and then walked out, deleting it from the sheet — another one bites the dust.

The real estate agent reassured us each time: If it doesn’t speak to you, we’ll keep looking.

Angelo’s Pizzeria, My Mom, and Life (as we knew it) Back in Those Days

by David Cenicola, M.Ed.

Suddenly, and quite unexpectedly, Marjorie grabbed me by the hand and pulled me towards the men’s room. She dragged me inside, and the door instantly slammed behind us. I tried opening the door, but the men on the other side were holding it shut and were shouting, “You’re not coming out until you get your…,” well, you get the picture.

Marjorie said, “C’mon, it will be alright.” She had me sit down on the toilet as she gracefully undid the button on my Levi’s. I decided to sit back and let it be. Since once was not enough to please everybody, she went two times with me. It was my first woman, but, as I had mentioned, not my first sexual experience.

Awe for the Everyday

written by Mike Alexander

Two days later, my daughter and the shoe box reappeared. Her new pet had moved into the corner of the box where it was diligently weaving itself a delicate cocoon of pale gray silk. Within a few hours it had retreated into its new haute couture outfit, and once again, it slipped from my mind, (as with so many other things these days).

The process of metamorphosis is one that we all understand in principle. It is also one of the many miracles of nature with which we have become so familiar with that we often fail to give it the awe that it is due.

Rethinking Valentine’s Day — From Someone Who Hates It

written by Lori Axler Miranda

In middle school, things started to shift, as they tend to do. The forced paper Valentines turned into pressure to give whoever I was “going with” at the time a gift of my love. It was always cologne. To this day, I am still haunted by the smell of Joop and CK One.

In high school, the gifts — and pressure — started to amp up. Suddenly we were buying jewelry and clothes. It was all so awkward…especially if you didn’t have a valentine.

So by the time I got to college and was starting to buck traditional norms, I decided to opt-out of Valentine’s Day and all of its shenanigans. (Although I still happily purchased half-price chocolates from my local drugstore the next day.)

Giving Others the Freedom to Change

written by Esther George

While I can accept that everything in life is moving forward, it baffles me that many people still prefer to hold on to what’s familiar and what they feel comfortable with.

Why do we demand and expect others to remain the same? Why won’t we allow others the freedom to change?

I wasn’t sure how I should respond. There might have been an uncomfortable realization that some aspects of me are no longer the same. But isn’t this the life we’ve agreed to sign up for before we come?

What’s Next After Covid-19: An Impending Global Water Crisis

written by Macey Malone

Water fuels nations’ commerce, trade, economic success, and transactions especially among regions where there are both international land and water borders. In fact, water’s role in shaping political relationships among nations goes back centuries.

Given the conflict-prone nature of our society, it won’t be surprising to many if I mention that there could be an increased likelihood of a hydro-political conflict sometime in the future.

The World Economic Forum talks about ‘water-wars’ in the future and discusses — “How likely are the water wars to arise? The researchers put such chances at 75 to 95% in the next 50 to 100 years”

I Had to Lose the Woman I Loved to Find Myself

written by Jesse Pedersen

If anything, the suffering I experienced transformed me into a more compassionate person. Each day, I get more fulfillment because I’ve taken the time to understand myself — my needs and my focus in life.

Breakups suck, but I’m here to tell you they’re not the end of the world. On the contrary, they’re just the beginning. They’ve taught me valuable life lessons and made me into the person I am today. Losing a lover is paradoxically conducive to self-growth.

Through pain and reflection, you uncover at the core who you want to be and in turn, become a better lover.

Money and Sex — Is That All You’ve Got?

written by S M Mamunur Rahman

The problem is — when a writer earns more money on such articles, very often, he/she shares the information on different social media groups. The screenshots of the title, views, and earnings are shown to others as evidence.

When other writers see the topic and titles and its success (financial), very likely they feel encouraged to give it a try whether their articles on similar topics earn more money or not. Thus, more writers feel inspired to write more articles on money, sex, orgasm, vagina, blowjobs, etc.

That’s why you will find people who are not millionaires are providing tips on how to become a millionaire. And those who hardly have a successful relationship with their partner try to teach you about different blowjobs styles or how to satisfy your partner. Yes, now you know the intention behind producing these types of content.

To Conclude

Good stories not only entertain you but also make you think about life and the world you are living in. We are confident that the above stories will do both.

So, read the above-mentioned stories published in The Masterpiece and enhance your understanding of yourself and the world around you.

Happy reading.
