Abstract

The article discusses the swirling rumors about the health and potential demise of Vladimir Putin, with sources suggesting he may have been dead for over a year and replaced by a body double. Major-General Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, is reported to have claimed that Putin died around 14 months ago. Political scientist Valery Solovey and others have fueled speculation by stating that Putin is terminally ill and could pass away by the end of autumn. These claims are countered by the Kremlin, which insists that Putin is alive and in good health. The article also mentions interviews with Anthony Glees, a professor at the University of Buckingham, and Ukrainian plastic surgeon Dmytro Slosser, who both lend credence to the body double theory. Last week, I read that Putin is dead… or maybe just on his deathbed.

According to MSN: “Knewz reported, Major-General Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, claimed that he can “prove” Putin is already dead. Budanov said that he is convinced Putin passed away around 14 months ago and a lookalike has been used to cover it up.”

The more likely story is that he’s terminally ill, with political scientist Valery Solovey saying he’ll die by ‘end of autumn’, as he’s very close to the end of life, after reportedly battling with cancer, Parkinson’s disease and various other ailments in recent years.

Anthony Glees, a professor at the University of Buckingham, said in an interview with the Daily Star: “I honestly think we may be seeing body doubles, “The real Putin may now be a gibbering wreck in a straitjacket.”

Ukrainian plastic surgeon Dmytro Slosser said the idea that a body double is being used is now widely believed, despite it having all the hallmarks of a conspiracy theory when the idea first emerged in 2021. He talked on Turkish TV about a time when Putin had a limp arm on one side, and then it was on the other side, like it was being faked.

It seems the likely cause of the leader’s death will be his battle with cancer, which has riddled his body, according to some reports.

However, these claims are based on speculation and conjecture. No evidence has been provided. The Kremlin has always maintained that Putin is alive and well, enjoying good health.

Given the uncertainty and conflicting information, Anthony Glees, in his interview with the Daily Star added: “We shouldn’t put our faith in illnesses dispatching him. The only way we’ll be rid of him is by destroying him physically, by winning the war he started — we shouldn’t wait for the Grim Reaper.”
