Check Out the Spacial Video Feature on the iPhone 15 Pro

You’ll be able to shoot 3D videos with your iPhone 15 Pro!

In some of my past posts, I’ve chatted about all sorts of stuff related to Apple, and you can find those links at the end of this post.

But today, let’s dive into something super cool: the iPhone 15 Pro is getting a killer new feature — it can record 3D videos!

So, after they went on and on about the impressive new camera system in the iPhone 15, Greg “Joz” Joswiak shifted gears to spill the beans on the fresh video features. Think 60fps 4K ProRes, LOG encoding, and something pretty cool called spatial video, designed especially for viewing on the Apple Vision Pro.

Now, hold on a sec — what’s spatial video, you ask? Well, it’s basically 3D video magic, and the iPhone 15 can whip it up natively. It does this by cleverly capturing footage from both the main and Ultra-wide cameras, resulting in a stereoscopic video masterpiece.

And guess what? You can dive into this 3D world using the Vision Pro. Although I’m not entirely sure about the exact format of this video and whether it’ll play nice with other spatial computing, 3D, or VR gadgets.

You’ll still be able to watch these clips in plain ol’ 2D on your iPhone, but let’s hope that they won’t lock full spatial playback solely to the Vision Pro. It’d be pretty sweet if you could enjoy these immersive vids on other 3D-friendly screens too, right?

Now, here’s where it gets even more exciting — if the iPhone 15 Pro can capture spatial video, it’s not a stretch to think that it could also snag spatial photos in the same fashion.

Sure, spatial images might not get your heart racing, but the ability to view them is where the real magic happens. Plus, it could open up a whole new world for creating AR objects that you can interact with on-screen.

We won’t fully grasp the potential of spatial capture until the Vision Pro headset drops next year, and, unfortunately, this mind-bending functionality won’t be available right out of the gate. It’s kind of a bummer that Apple hasn’t been shouting from the rooftops about this feature’s importance.

While we twiddle our thumbs in anticipation, there’s a whole bunch of cool stuff to dive into with the new iPhone 15 Pro lenses. Let’s talk about the 5x telephoto camera — it’s like having a high-tech zoom lens in your pocket. But that’s not all.

They’ve also cooked up a next-gen portraits feature that’s seriously next-level. This bad boy captures all that juicy depth information, giving you the power to choose your point of focus even after you’ve taken the shot. Remember when only fancy-schmancy cameras like the Lytro could pull off this trick? Well, now it’s as easy as a tap on your iPhone.

Final Words

So, there you have it — the iPhone 15 Pro is shaping up to be a real game-changer, especially with these jaw-dropping camera features and the tantalizing promise of spatial video and photos.

And remember, the best is yet to come when the Vision Pro hits the scene.

Until then, get ready to be wowed by the incredible lenses and portrait prowess of the iPhone 15 Pro.

It’s a whole new world of photography and videography, right in your pocket.
